Reasonable Veterinarian for Dog Around La Habra Area??

Hi The La Mirada Animal health center has good prices. I think they go by pound so if you have a puppy. My sister in law had her golden retrever nuetered ther and if i remember right it was about 100 or 70 I dont remember, I take my two dogs there for the shots the number is###-###-####. they are open in the afternoon and saturdays. on the corner of Lamirada and Imperial. hope this helps.

I don't know of any vets in La Habra but there is a very inexpensive vet in Long Beach. The name is Golden State Humane Society. Their address is 555 E. Artesia Blvd., Long Beach, CA 90805 and their ph# is ###-###-####. I don't believe their prices have changed much but if they have I'm sure they are nowhere near $250. If I'm not mistaken, the price to neuter a dog 30 lbs and under is $30.00. Any dog over 31 lbs you add $1.00 per lb.

That's about the going rate in OC for a vet to do it. However if you want to save $$$, it is worth the drive to LA county. I'm not sure if shelters do it if you didn't get a dog there, but I adopted 1 puppy from San Gabriel Animal Shelter and they spayed that dog and our other puppy for $70 each. For puppies it is not a big deal, it is more extensive and more expensive for older dogs. Years ago we paid $$$ to get an adult male Rottweiler neutered at a vet, then learned the same vet performed low-cost spay/neuters at a clinic across the street in Garden Grove -- off Euclid. With the clinics you generally have to be willing to drop off the dog early in AM on like a Tues or Thurs. and pick up by a certain time in PM (like 4PM).

If you don't want to go to Garden Grove, I am sure they could recommend some cheaper locations for you. We have seen the vet tech here with mulitple animals for over twenty years. They are honest and will not rip you off.

Give them a call, if they won't work for you I know you'll be directed somewhere that will work for you.

We take our animals to the Golden State Humane Society in Garden Grove. We just had our chihuaha neutered last week and it cost 75.00, it would have been $30.00 but he had a retained testical so it was a little more. I love the people that work there, they are wonderful and very loving to our pets. Vaccinations are very cheap too, I am very happy with them. Here's their address/phone #, good luck!
