Dear T.,

I was on Ortho Tri Cyclyn for about 6-7 years without any other form of birth control and I did not get pregnant. Make sure that you are taking it correctly, if you do not feel that the pill is right for you, maybe you should look into other forms of birth control. My daughter is a year old now, instead of going back on the pill after I had her I had the Mirena IUD put in. I love it, at first it was a little uncomfortable but now I love it and I don't have to worry about remembering to take a pill or anything. It is also nice that I don't have to worry about having it removed for 5 years, if you do not want to have anymore children and do not want to stay on the pill, this may be an option for you. Anyway, I hope this helps.

Not a weird question to ask. Ultimately nobody, even the doctors can say for sure with how different we each are physically, but commonly, the control will prohibit your ability to conceive for up to 2-3 months AFTER you stop taking the pill. If you know HOW you conceive (easily or with some help) then you can better tell, but most likely it won't be the next day after you have stopped taking your pills.

i was on that birth control and had the same issues. i talked to my dr and she changed it to 'kariva'

If you're really sure you don't want more kids. The best way not to have them is to get fixed. Have your tubes tied. Otherwise there is no guarentee you won't get pg. My cousin and my sister were both on the pill and both of them got pregnant anyway. Good luck!!!
