I mama's out there! I am a mom of two boys and my husband and I really want to have a third baby...and we are DYING to have a little girl. I have done a little internet research as to how to try naturally to conceive a baby girl but it is hard to know what to trust or what is good advice.

Has anyone tried a natural method to achieve the gender you wanted and succeeded? I hope there is something out there to help us out!

Take Care,
A.

So What Happened?

Wow..I had no idea that this topic would bring up so many emotional responses. Thank you all for responding I really appreciate it. I just want to say that I am very happy with my two boys and my desire, great great desire to have a girl is not just for dress up and bows and pink. I would simply love to have another female as part of our family. I know my husband would love to be Daddy to a little girl...but with that said I do believe that God has a plan and that his plan is the better one.

I really appreciate the idea of adoption I have always thought about adoption and perhaps this is God's way of saying Go for it!!! I was just hoping that maybe...maybe there was something out there that would help us conceive a little girl. My husband and I had a great conversation last night and we decided to hold of achieving this year so that we are both emotionally ready for either boy or girl and that we receive that child with all our heart...AND we are looking at adoption agencies as well! I am really excited about it actually.

Thank you all for your input.
Blessings,
A.

If you want a girl that desperately, adopt. I would hate for you to try
some method that did not work and you had another boy that was not
wanted.

I just wanted healthy babies, boy or girl. I would think long and hard.

You can't choose the gender of your child unless you adopt. There are many beautiful girls out there who need parents. Adoption is great way to add to your family, especially since you already have two biological children.

Please don't rely on some internet or other urban legend to make you think you're going to conceive a girl if you do things a certain way. Your husband's DNA determines it -and that alone. We've had several posts lately about people who are devastated they're having a boy after trying for a girl. I'm not saying you would be that way, but unless you are all going to be GENUINELY happy with another boy -please don't try again!

I love the suggestion to adopt a girl. There are MANY girls in this country and elsewhere in the world who would love to be adopted by someone who really wants them! That's your only guarantee for a girl!

The only surefire way to get the sex you want is to adopt, and to not get your hopes up when you are pregnant.

I also have 2 boys and my sister has 4 boys... no girls in our family at all!

What I decided to do, was be a 'big sister' mentor and I adopt a girl at Christmas time from the angel tree so I can do some girly shopping.

You have a 50/50 chance no matter what you do, so be prepared to be happy with another boy if thats the case. I HAVE heard that the chances of having a child of the opposite gender if the first two+ are all the same gender are really low.

We have two boys, and tried for 2yrs to get pregnant with #3. We have moved onto adoption, and are in the paperchase for a sweet little 3yr old girl in Eastern Europe. :)

It's really just a matter of rolling the dice. My advice would be to make peace with the idea that you will get what you get and it will be a beautiful part of your family to love and a new adventure. When we were pregnant with our 2nd I went to the ultrasound with the idea that I would love to have a girl because we had a son but I had made my peace that I would be thrilled with whatever popped up on the screen. If it was 2 boys I had then I'd play Paula Dean and cook with my 2 boys in the kitchen lol! It made the day of the ultrasound a much more pleasant one because i wasn't worked up about who might be kicking around in there, if that makes any sense. Hope that helps!

If you're talking about having sex some days before ovulation in order to have a girl or right at ovulation in order to have a boy, well, the probability increases slightly that you will get your way. But it's probability, nothing more. It's like playing blackjack and not taking another card once you reach 16. It might work, it might not, but it's the best option.

There is NO natural way to pick the gender of your baby. There are ethically dubious ways of making it happen in a lab.

My unlce and his wife only ever wanted a girl and they ended up with 3 boys before getting a girl.

Good luck to you.

Well, Miss Heather, that post was very rude.

I have TWO girls, and they are both wonderful, well-behaved, delightful, and just a pure joy to have around. They are respectful, intelligent, and have always slept through the night. If you have problems with your girl, it's not because she's a girl, it's because she's getting away with it.

A.- I wanted a girl so badly too, in my situation I got it, and then I got another! It's all up to your husband, though. No amount of changing sex positions or anything else is going to change that.

You can do in vitro fertilization and the dr. can only implant a certain sex into your uterus but that's the only surefire way, that I know of.

I was in that same boat about 2-3 years ago...we had 2 beautiful boys. and I was charting and trying to have sex at the optimal times for a daughter. But we ended up with another boy. Whom we love so much. But I still very much long for a daughter.

so I'm still praying and hoping for a daughter either naturally or by adoption. I'm not so sure those other methods really work, but they are fun to try. lol

Look into the babycomp machine http://www.ladycomputer.com
You take your temperature every morning and it computes your cycle and will flash when its best to concieve a girl and same for a boy. Does all the work for you. It is expensive but I think worth it.
6 years back i purchased the ladycomp to use as natural birth control and it worked. I never used the baby comp cause it didnt matter to me the gender of my 2 kids - but I think its a good company and worth a try to use if you can afford it. I belive it is around $500. not cheap
Good luck

My friend used the Chinese gender chart...worked for her so far (she has 2 and a 3rd one on the way). But of course this is not scientifically proven (not that I know of) -- one chance out of two:

Ashley S is right - best way to 100% get a girl is to adopt (China has a great program and many, many little girls as girls are de-valued in that country).

Anything else is 50/50. If you are DYING to have a little girl, how will you feel if you conceive a boy? Will you be angry or thrilled to have a new, little person in the house?

Wide Horizons is a great adoption agency. You should check them out :)

Beware of anything telling you you can choose the sex of your baby. After all the stories of "success" have a 50/50 chance, right?
Hopefully, you won't be disappointed if you try and have another boy.
Best wishes.

This probably sounds silly, but several of my friends used the Chinese birth chart and ALL of them ended up being correct. I didn't use it but when I looked back on it after my kids were born, it was correct. You have to remember to use your lunar age not your actual age (?). If you're serious, do some research on how to find your lunar age. Good luck!

The Billings Method (book on amazon) is a natural method for knowing your body and when you are fertile (can conceive) and not fertile. It also has a section on when you might be more likely to conceive a girl or boy.

i would examine the reasons you want another child. to be a parent? for your own benefit? to dress in pink? i would think that if you didn't want to parent a CHILD, but only a GIRL. it might be a good idea not to have another. it's more likely to have a boy. You can try a hundred different "tricks" but that is something that is not, and shouldn't be, our choice.
