I pierced my daughters ears when she was 4 months old as she has gotten older her earrings are uneven she is now 13 months can I re-pierce her ear and will the other hole close?
my daughter had hers done at 7 months, they did one crooked, removed it and redid it on the spot. its fine 2 1/2 months later. my older daughter had a misfire or whatever they got the gun stuck and pierced one crookedly, i had it redone by hand a few weeks later, again she was fine. I think you should do it sooner than later before the hole becomes more permanent.
The hole will close, whether or not it will "vanish" is a separate matter. That young, they usually do. In a year or two, however, the holes usually become permanent EVEN though they are healed/closed there will still be a dot or indentation from the original hole.
I *HIGHLY* recommend Slave to the Needle in Phinney or 45th near the UW just west of I5. Best shop in the Puget Sound... and their piercers are licensed and certified... that's ALL that they do. Going to a good tattoo / piercing studio is quite a bit more expensive than the mall (typically around $30 + cost of jewelry.., not sure about current pricing) but you really get what you pay for.

They don't use a gun, but aseptic piercing with needles. It hurts a great deal LESS with a needle, placement is perfect, and the holes heal better and faster since there is no "smashing" of the other tissue. Clamp. Needle. Jewelry. Unclamp. Finis.
if they arent horridly uneven then i wouldnt worry. if you feel the need to re-pierce them then do it :). i took my daughter to a piercing pagoda and they were awesome when i had my daughters done when she was 2 months old. they use all sterile equipment.
It will probably close over okay if you need to redo it. I never did the piercing myself. Based on how much my kids wiggle when I trim their hair I wouldn't want to try it on a wiggly toddler. I went to a jewelry store to get my ears pierced and they had everything--pointy tipped earrings in a sterile package and a piercing gun. The peircing gun is startling but very fast.
The holes will close since she is so young. They will even close up on an adult if no earrings are placed in the hole for a number of years.

Yes, you can repierce her ear and yes, the other hole will close up. My granddaughter's ears were pierced when she was a baby and her mother let the holes close up during her preschool years. You couldn't tell her ears had been pierced. She then repierced them and they look fine.
the same thing happened to me when i was a child, and i still have problems with uneven holes. i was a bit older than 13 months when it was noticed my first set was uneven, but theyve never fully closed even after not wearing anything in them for a number of years. i got a second set done in my teens and i still (at 26) have problems wearing earrings in all 4 holes since the first set was crooked. its for this reason i refuse to let my girls get their ears done until theyre older, and i will never ever ever get them done with a gun at the mall. it doesnt so much pierce, as rip through and a "gun" can never be fully sterilized.
My Daughters ears were pierced at 2 months and at 18 months she had to have ear plugs inserted. Because it was surgery, they made me remove the earrings. At about 4 years old, I asked if she wanted to wear her earrings again and she said yes. I put them back in and one went right in and one made a crunch sound when it went in.
