Rash During Pregnancy
I developed ithcy legs after I shaved my legs 2 weeks ago. It has gotten progressively worse. My legs are now covered in red spots. I itch them until they bleed and then they scab and i do it all over again. It is terrible. I have tried Benadryl, Calamine, and every other OTC anti-itch cream, including hydocortisone cream. My OB is out of town and my PCP can't seem me for a few days. Has anyone expirenced this and if so what did you take?

I also can kind of relate..in my third trimester I developed an allergy to my laundry detergent(I had used the same detergent for close to a year)...I was itchy all over my body...I got some Aveno body wash and cream, as well as switched to a free and clear detergent, and it cleared up in less than a week. Hope this helps...and good luck with the itchies!!!

I can kind of relate. I'm not sure if its the same thing that you have, but when I was pregnant, I had eczema all over both my hands. I went to a dermatologist and she basically told me that there wasn't much I could do but to constantly put lotion on them. Aveeno works very well for me. I hope your legs feel better soon!

Call your pharmacist. They'll be able to recommend something over the counter to get relief until a doctor can see you.
Good luck!
Pregnancy is so weird, isn't it?!?!?!?!??! End result is great but getting to the baby is sometimes so weird!! Who knew our bodies were capable of all these things!

S.,
be careful when using over the counter creams like benedryl because with topical medicines like that you cant control the dosages! (how much is actually absobed into the skin) aveeno makes an oatmeal baby bath that works pretty well, and there is a spray called dermaplast that works well too till you can get in to your doctor. hope it clears up for you soon.

It might be a PUPP rash. I had that all over my body 2 weeks before I delivered. Sarna cream gave me the most relief but the only thing that really helped was delivering the baby. The rash went away soon after that. I even brought my Sarna cream in the delivery room with me.

just in time for the warmer weather, but my recommendation is to definitely quit shaving until it clears up....and then start with a new razor, and some damn fine shaving gel....use a toner afterward too.
