wow L. thats sounds like its been quite the fight for u to keep under control...poor little guy. The mothers on here left some good ideas that worked for them. But my concern is 5 months....thats not healthy! Yeast infections do go away. U shouldnt of delt with this so long and now its spreading. Even u hv got the vibe ur dr. has overlooked it. I really would take him to a diff. dr and hv some other tests ran. It sounds like its something eles. I would be very concerned. I really hope u get it settled:) I hv 3 times been overlooked by a dr. and then found out my daughter had a more serious prob and was glad to of went to a diff dr. i now stick with the dr that has helped with julia. she was a sick baby in the infant part. I hope u will go c a diff dr. just to feel safe that thats what it is and c what eles can be done. If it goes on to long ur looking at bigger problems. good luck i really hope the best for u! i luv to hear back ur responce once this is settled. it will help many mothers ;)

both my boys ahd yeast infection in the diaper area and it took a perscription to get rid of them they also had a nasty rash in teh fold of their necks at various times and powder cleared that right up. yeast likes warm moist places so keeping the folds and diaper area of your baby clean and dry and exposing them to as much air as possible should prevent tehmm from coming back. something else to consider is it could be a staph infection and again it will need an antibiotic. also soemthing to ask your pharmasist about, there is an ointment called pink slave, and that is not how it is spelled but how it is said and they keep it behind the counter my ped told me about it and it is the only thing i ever used after that and i still use it today because my 4 year old is very sensitive and will get a rash if she takes a bath because of teh soap and such. good luck.

Hey L., something I have picked up from one of my friends has always worked really well on my dauther (17 mths) is putting Dreft (the laundry detergent) in her bath water. It takes a few days, but you can definetly tell the difference after one use. I hope this helps you and I hope your little one feels better.

Hi L.,
If you're still looking for a solution to yeast issues, it is better to make sure there isn't an overgrowth of yeast in the body (which there probably is) rather than just treating the symptoms. Ezcema is also a problem from the inside that is better healed than treated.

Hello! Do lotrimin cream 4 times a day, and in between use your regular diaper rash cream

My daughter had a yeast type rash in her neck and leg creases for many months after she was born. Finally, someone suggested putting extra virgin coconut oil on it. It works really well! I've also used it on other rashes and it clears it up almost instantly.
