Rash Between Legs

We just started potty training a month ago with our 2.4 year old daughter. Been wearing panties and pull-ups. Last week she started to get a big red patch on the inside of both her legs. When she has an accident we promptly remove the wet clothing and put on dry. We thought she might be allergic to the pull ups but it happened on a all-panty day too. She has had excema in the past. It does itch and hurt her. Going to the Dr tomorrow. Any tips from experienced Mommies?

Her panties might be a bit too small, my son has sensitive skin and we can not use briefs, he has to wear boxers ONLY. Also we were told to use liquid softener not sheets, and use FREE products, no dyes, coloring or perfume. Just something to try out. My middle son has very bad excema and I swear that boy gets a rash if the wind changes directions LOL
I also wanted to say that I have one daughter who I got after 2 years on fertility pills, a son who was 3.5 years of pills and then shots, he was a twin but we lost one. Then I had started birth control pills to control some bleeding and got baby #3. My boys are 14 months apart and such a JOY, the baby is like a gift I never knew I wanted/needed until I recieved him.
God bless and good luck!

Sometimes, kids as well as adults I know, are allergic to the elastic in panties... around the legs and waistlines.
It could be that.

My sister and Mom get 'rashes' or itchy welts from certain panties due to the elastic in them. So they have to shop around for more tolerable panties.

Just an idea.
All the best,
Susan

You say when she has an accident, you change her into dry clothes promptly- but do you clean her first? Try washing the whole area (where the rash is) before putting her into dry clothes (with a baby wipe or wet wash cloth). Or, it could be an allergy to the pull-ups/undies... Good luck!

Hi,
My son always gets rashes between his legs at the beach...from chafing of the bathing suit and the sand and mainly from being wet. My doctor always give me eucerine calming cream yet I think he is sick of me bringing him in for rashes as he just says that he has sensitive skin. Could be a fungus, but doubtful. Have you changed the detergent or dryer sheets? I know that Tide w downy made my son break out.
Best of luck!
