Rainy Days

Does anyone have any suggestions for activities on a rainy day for a 7 month old. We have a few toys in the house but she gets sick of them quickly. We usually go to the park or for a walk but when we are stuck in the house it drains on me and her.

What can I do next?

Lots of bubbles in an impromptu bath!

Make a huge mess of your tupperware cabinet, by letting her push them and slap them and kick them.

Dance around to some music.

Show her all of your shoes. Let her unlace the tennis shoes.

Make tunnels with furniture and blankets for her to crawl through.

Watch some PBS and sing along with them.

We used to blow bubbles in the bathroom. Dance and sing to anything. Read. Walk around the house to see what we could "discover." Do housework while the baby "helps" -- hold her while you vacuum; carry her in the laundry basket to bring up clothes to fold. In fact, put her in the laundry basket with a little padding around her and push her around the floor making train noises.

Anything can be fun if you involve her and make it sound fun. Sing or talk to her while you are together.

Have fun!
