Rabbit Turd Poo

I have a 7mth old and lately over the last couple of days his poop has been rabbit turds, lots of little ones? He is not a very dirty diaper kinda' infant, meaning his poop usually is large "turds" or somewhat sticky lumps, but not running and all other the place, only when he had a stomach bug was it like that. Just not sure if this is normal or not, he is not acting like his stomach hurts or is constipaded we went through that when he was newborn. He is on baby food now along w/formula...any suggestions?

Try givin him baby food prunes. If he is constipated they will absolutely help!

Poor guy is constipated. Don't let it go too long. It can lead to bigger problems. We have dealt w/ this issue in my dtr for over 9 yrs and have had her on many different homepathic and prescription laxatives. Ask your doc what they suggest.

I didn't see where you are giving the child water. Most mothers claim their children don't like the taste, however, water is also important for their digestive system. If he is reluctant to the taste, add a couple of drops of honey to make it more flavorful. No doctor advised that, however, it worked for my son when he was little. He is 22 now, it didn't harm him any :-)

It sounds like this is normal for him, except for the possible constipation, which could simply mean he needs more hydration.

Good Luck...& Blessings...

The intestines need lots of water to do their job well and to form stool. When poo looks like rabbit or canel dung, there is a problem with hydration. This is true for babies through adulthood. Always make sure your child gets enough water. It is the most essential element to the body. Also consider adding some baby food plums or mashed fresh plums or sweet potato.

Sounds like constipated poops. I'd see my pediatrician for advice since he's so young. (too young for some of the regular remedies, perhaps?)

Both of my infants experienced this once in awhile. It usually happened when they had a new food introduced and were having a little constipation. It usually cleared up in a day or so -especially if given some fruit juice and lots of baby food or mashed fruit.
