Questions on Weaning???

I recently weaned my daughter from the breast. I am just wondering if anyone has any suggestions for decreasing my milk supply. I am not engorged or uncomfortable, my breasts are just huge! I actually have one breast that is larger and would really like to even them out. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you!

What can I do next?

I just stopped and released some when it got uncomfortable by expressing with my hand and within a couple of weeks they dried up and were back to normal.I reduced my water intake too.

The only thing you canreally do is wait. If you become engorged you can try a brest pump, That helped me when I was weaning my daugters. Just take less amounts each day: day one three oz. each side two or three times a day, day two 2.5 oz, day three 2oz and so on.

Is your daughter no longer interested in breastfeeding? I think it is wonderful you have done it this long, why give it up unless she is showing no interest, (which happened with me. I went two and a half years and was definitely getting to the point where I was wondering if she would ever stop breastfeeding. And at exactly two and a half years, she lost interest.) But if she is still wanting it, why give it up?

If she is ready to stop, I found if I was engorged I would pump, otherwise it will just decrease on its own, I found.

There are a lot of herbs and natural remedies for decreasing milk supply. Here's a great link with lots of info that I give to my clients: http://www.kellymom.com/herbal/milksupply/herbs-oversuppl...

Ok I know it sounds crazy but..... chilled cabbage leaves in your bra. It helped my engorgment. And it was really bad! So it should work like a champ for your situation. I think even if you did nothing things will work themselves out- might just take a little more time.
Just don't encourage your production by expressing any milk out or warm/hot water on your chest.

Hope this helps.

Red raspberry tea and ok this will sound wierd get cabbage leaves and break the veins and bput tehm in your bra change them when they get warm

Your milk supply will start to decrease since you have stopped breast feeding. The best thing to do is not to stimulate the breast. Don't pump, don't touch them, or let your husband touch them, or even let the shower hit them. You can also wear a snug bra. It just takes a little time. Check with your doctor to see if there is anything you can take to dry up your milk. At one time there was a drug on the market, but the took it off because it wasn't safe.

There is the old wives tale that you get a head of cabbage. Put a leaf around your breast for like 30 minutes and in 2 or 3 days you completely dry up. I knew a mother/daughter set that swore by it!

I recently weaned my son and it took about 3 weeks for my milk supply to completly decress. I don't know of anything that can help reduce your milk but I read that you should cut down on your liquids some. Good luck and I can understand wanting your breasts to be the same size it just takes time.
