Question About Thoughts on Shaving down under..why Does It Gross Some People Out

OK so I saw the previous post about how often or much we shave. Thanks for the fun Monday start!! but it got M. thinking....
Why do we get equate shaving and not having hair down there to looking like a little girl and get grossed out and think society and men are so gross for wanting this? After all we all(or I should say most of us) shave our armpits and legs and don't claim that’s society wanting us to look like a little girl (and for the most part we get that hair after puberty so if you had that logic about down there why do you shave the rest?)? So what’s the difference between shaving anywhere else and down there?
Whether you shave or not is not really the question, to each their own! My questions more of a , I don't get the difference between shaving any body part vs. down there, and how shaving completely clean makes someone think of a prepubescent girl yet shaving armpits or legs doesn’t get that reaction

What can I do next?

So What Happened?™

cupcake sweet- i think you misread M., i don't think its wierd if people don't shave I said I don't understand people that eqaute shaving to looking like a little girl...to each theri own--i said that 2 times...i J. don't see how shaving your lady parts is any diferent than shaving your legs..a preference
Dad On Purpose---LOL I loved your answer---well said!
Jim I agree, I don't have issues on whether or not I should shave or if other people should. I have my routine I'm comfortable with...I'm more confused to why do some people associate shaving clean with looking like a kid
I don't think you can argue that arms and legs arent sexual organs so its diferent. We shave them ro attract men and its seen as more sexy than having hair all over. Yes theres a reason for the hair dawn, it actually serves the purpose of trapping in odors and attrating the opposite sex too...there are plenty of reasons for body hair too and we take that off....I shave, I think its a personal preference...to each their own, I J. dont see how people can say its to look like a little girl
Rachel, I completely agree with everything you said!

Ok, this isn't going away today is it? It's all a matter of preference, guy or girl.
TALK and find out what the other wants. Meet in the middle (no pun intended).

Actually, IMO, shaving any part of a post-pubescent female body DOES equate to looking like prebubescent girls.

I don't get that connection either. Now, there are some porno's with disgustingly skinny chicks with no hips, no boobs, who looks like a 12 year old boy (yes, totally shaved), THAT's gross.

But a nice, curvy, feminine woman who shaves... there's no way you could mistake a REAL WOMAN for being a little girl. I J. don't see it!

I think the 'TMI' factor goes along with the fact that we're talking about our lady parts... which I also find hard to believe because we all have them, and we're all moms, ergo: EVERYONE'S SEEN IT ALREADY, LOL!!

My husband , Bless his heart, has always said he finds it strange when men like women with no curves and hairless.. He says it is as if they are dreaming of being with a prepubescent girl.

He says as a teen, "most boys dream of breasts hips and soft curves.. Not teen boy bodies.. " Have a boy draw a woman vs drawing a girl..

I also could care less what others do down there. It is none of my business, I J. know what my husband and I like. As long as we are on the same page.. no problems here.

I would not say leaving it the way it is or shaving it all off is "gross". It is more confusing, actually. What confuses M. is the regular women who shave all of off on a regular basis to feel "clean". What does that mean? I use tampons because it's cleaner but I take a shower and wash my head hair on a regular basis, therefore it is clean. I do not have to shave the hair on my head to feel "clean". The one time I shaved down there it was so itchy and then it looked gross growing in like a 5:00 shadow. And yes, it does look like a child if it is shaved off completely. No judgements past that, but let's be honest. Personally, I like to keep it trimmed up, nothing peaking out of a bathing suit at all. That is gross! It is become long then it irritates the um, "inside part". LOL

What's the big deal with the way some people feel? I'm sure you have things that don't appeal to you, and you owe no one an explanation for your feelings. It so happens that shaving a vagina bald doesn't bother you. Armpits and legs are not sex organs, at least not for us they aren't. I don't remove all the hair on my vagina because I see no need to. I groom certain parts of my body the way I do because it's all about what "I" think looks good.

ETA: You and Rachel D. think it's weird or whatever that some women do not want their vagina shaved bare, but what she described is also a matter of preference. J. because a guy likes skinny, flat-chested girls doesn't mean he's a perv either. Unless a person tells you otherwise, it's simply a matter of preference. :)

I think some people want to find perversion in everything. I also think that thought process is a perversion of its own.

Women are lucky, the hair tends not to creep up the shaft. Guys don't want to floss while they...and they are perverts? I don't think so.

A woman feels cleaner they are trying to attract pedophiles, I don't think so.
