Question About KinderCare and La Petite Academy

Hello,
My husband and I are trying to do some research on daycares for our 2 year old girl. We have narrowed it down to KinderCare and La Petite Academy. I was just wondering if anybody has any comments, good or bad, on either childcare facility.
Also, I was wondering if anybody has a rough estimate on how much it costs to have your child in either one daycare. We just want to have a idea, since nowhere on their websites does it say anything about costs.

Thank you very much
C. G.

What can I do next?

My girlfriend told me that she took her 4 year old daughter to La Petite (Power & Baseline). The first day her grandmother went to pick her up, and they didn't even know the little girls name the whole day! They were like who? On top of that they just let the grandmother take her not knowing if she had consent to even take her. That was the last day they ever saw her. It was way over priced as well. I would definatley go to an in home daycare where there is a smaller group of children.

Hi C..

My son attended Kindercare for two years. He liked it. The Kindercare that he attended was off of Alma School & Germann. He learned as what was to be expected for his age. Also the teachers were very nice. As for the price we paid 134.10 for three days. From what I have heard La Petite is a good day-care, but expensive.

Hope this helps.

I have looked into both and determined I liked Kinder Care better. I know it depends on which one you choose, since some are nicer then others. One of the newest and nicer ones in the one on Power and Baseline. They charge $218 a week for a toddler. I just called last week, so the price is current. Hope this helps.

When i went to put my son in day care, I looked at a lot of places. I did not care for La Petite because i had talked to other moms that had their kids there and their kids would get hurt and none of the staff would know how it happened. Kinder Care was a nice place, I just didn't care for their set-up. But between the two i would choose Kinder Care.
Have you looked into Tutor Time on Recker and Guadalupe? Thats where i had my son and i loved them. You might also look into
The montesouri center- they take kids that are 2 1/2 and older and potty trained. That is where i have my son now and he loves it. For full day pre-k, it is $550.00 a month which i found is cheaper than a lot of day cares and he learns a lot more. They also have after school care which is really cheap as well- if you are interested i can give you more info.

Just give those places a call. They will be able to tell you the prices for different age groups and also depending on if it's a part time or full time basis. Also, I would recommend going and taking a tour. A good time to go is right in the middle of the day when they have children there so that you can have firt hand observations of what the children do and how the staff interact with them.

My kids go to Kindercare and have been since Feb of last year. transition was rough because they have never been to child care nor even have a stranger watch them. My daughter was15mos and my son about 2 1/2. Compared to all other places we toured Kindercare was better. The kids love it and so do we. My son is now in preschool there and loves it so much. Its pricey but well worth it! They go to the Mcqueen/Ray rd location.

Also every Kindercare has different prices and Chandler Kindercares are more expensive than other locations. They give tours and when they strted I called all the time. I always pop up at different times to pick them up so I can see what they are doing. We pay 330 a week for FT or 100 a day for PT Its like 56 per day for 2's room but less for FT. We also get a discount since there dad works for Fed Ex.

have you thought about or checked into montisorri schools. They are great. I checked into them when i was still pregnate. If i can remember the one i picked was about 500-550 a month. The one that i chose was Dobson Montisorri right across from banner desert. the owner also has a kindergarten and also goes all the way through high school i think. Anyway the programs themselves are fantastic and have been around for many many years. I went to one when my dad was stationed in germany. They do alot more than just watch your children for you.

C.,
What ever you do, please do not take your little girl to Kindercare. My sister used to manage one, and they were always over ratio in the toddler rooms, never had enough help, and run down and beat. What is worse is the turn over of the staff. You might want to consider an in home daycare. Little more consistant. Price wise you are looking at $150-180 depending on potty training and location. I received two separate quotes from Kindercare, and all it was...location of the center. Hope this helps.... :)
