ok here is whats going on. my house has a really cold room (my oldest one) a in the "middle" room and a HOT room. in the winter it is so hard to balance out. my youngest room gets really warm and the oldest room stays cool. so I was wondering if anyone out there can suggest some kind of fan/heater that blows warm air but does not have coils or get too hot??? I am not a fan of using heaters (never have) but we need to figure something out. please help out. We will probably put the boys in the same room once the baby is old enough. thanks I AM WANTING TO KNOW IF THERE IS SOMETHING SAFE OUT THERE NOT SHAME ON ME FOR WANTING TO USE ONE. I DONT KNOW IF SAFE AND HEATERS EVEN EXIST. THANKS AGAIN

What can I do next?

S.,

We have a very old house and some of the bedrooms get really cold in the winter. We heard on about EdenPure heaters on the radio. It is a warm air heater with no coils and safe to touch (no worries about burning babies if they get too close) It is something that we are looking in to so that we do not have to crank the heat so high to heat the coldest rooms. They are expensive, but they claim that they can cut your heating costs in half. If you want to check it out, the web site is http://www.edenpureheaters.com/

We use a "booster fan" that sits on the vent in the floor. It basically sucks more cool air (when the A/C is on) or more warm air (when the furnace is on) into the room. You can buy it at Home Depot. Good luck!

I have something similar to what you are looking for in my son's room. It is a panel, so there is no coils or air blowing. But the panel does become hot (not so hot that it can burn you instantly if bumped.), but not so hot it is a fire hazard.

I believe it is called "Econo Panel" and it helped us tremendously during the first year for our son's room!

Here's a website: http://www.eheat.com/

Hope this helps!

We have that problem in my youngest childs room. It's a good 5 degrees colder than the rest of the house. We bought the heater fan. It's like a regualr celling fan and works as a regular celling fan too, but it has a hair dryer motor on it and blows HOT hair from it to heat the room and it really does heat the room. I put it on before I brush teeth and read books and by the time I put my son to bed, his room his warm. But then I turn it off, he hates the sound. it's just a fan with it blowing..not a bad noise but my 3 year old just doesn't like it. I will say my daughter has one too, and she doesn't complain but we hardly have to use hers...

We bought ours on EBAY...But they sell the exact same model for $350 or more dollars at Lowes...The fans come with a remote and it shows the current temp and what temp you want it to get to...and once it gets that temp the heater turns off... I will say we got ours cheaper on ebay...

Have any other questions please feel free to message me..

S., do you have a forced air furnace? When I was growing up and the house my mom is in now both had that problem. My room was the last in the heating duct system and my sister's was first. So what we had to do was adjust the ducts so that hers was more restricted and more heat was pushed along the way to my room, so what may be happening is vent in the middle room may be blocked or need to be opened more.

Now that I have a house with a screwed up baseboard heating system I have a small fan that I keep in the hallway and blow in the direction of my daughter's room and mine. My Son's room has a radiator that can heat the entire house so he just has a regular fan in on it to blow the heat out and around.

Good luck.
