Question About Dressing Kids....

1. My kids are school age (almost 4 and 8). If we are blessed with a day we dont' have to do anything, we stay in jammies as long all day, but that is very rare. On a slow day or a vacation day, we will likely wait until after breakfast or morning playtime to get them dressed.

2. Never naked, even as babies.

3. Yes, they wear underwear. For dance, they really should have on tights, so the underwear showing issue is pretty minimal. But I feel they should anyway at this age. They aren't professional dancers on stage afterall.

My 2.5 yr old is naked right now! He is usually skin only whenever we are home :-) my 1yr old is still in his jammies, it is 1pm.

I get up shower and get dressed every day.. if I am sick I lay around in my pjs.. other than that I am dressed.. I get my kids dressed everyday. we might have one pj day in the middle of winter.. if it was a really cold snowy day and we were just going to hang out all day..

we do not run around naked.

we do wear underwear under dance clothes.

Number 1...my opinion remember....I would under no circumstances let my child run naked in my house. Parents are letting children run and manipulate them. Number 2...nothing wrong with staying in pjs for most of the morning....but it is better to establish a routine that children can get used to..then they won't fight when it is time to get dressed. Number 3...don't let your child dictate to you as a parent about not wanting to get redressed after diaper change or dirty shirts. Don't let them become headstrong...you will pay for it later. They need to learn modesty.

We usually do at least one "lazy day" on the weekend. Taylor will come downstairs, flop down beside me and say "Mom, I think tomorrow is going to be my lazy day."

On lazy days we usually don't get out of PJ's or even leave the house.

My granddaughter likes to when she's home from school, but it bothers me. I don't mind the occasional day when we stay in PJs all day, but when she's out of school and I come home for 2 or more days in a row to find her still in PJs it bothers me. I think it bothers me because then I know she's been inside all day and I really like her to get outside for exercise and fresh air. I definitely believe in the 60 minutes per day of physical exercise!

1. My son is usually up by 7:30 and dressed by 9AM. My husband doesn't like him to take a nap with jeans on (he thinks it is too uncomfortable), so I usually put pj bottoms on for nap, and sometimes they stay on until 3 or so, but usually he gets fully dressed again right after naptime.

2. My son loves to be naked, but we usually don't allow it unless it is right before bathtime. However, my husband has an obsession with not wearing pants when he gets home from work, so sometimes I will walk into the room and neither of them will have pants on and my husband will say "It's pantsless Wednesday Mommy!" as I roll my eyes. I think every day is pantsless day in their minds!

3. Not applicable, but I would definitely leave on the underwear if it were. The other girls might have different style of underwear (bikini instead of briefs). Yes, they make different styles even at very young ages! I am going to assume that the leotard is not 100% cotton, and that the fabric would not let the vagina "breath" properly as cotton panties would.

1. I can't stand staying in my pjs all day so I don't let my kids. If we're staying home all day they can wear sweats. Usually get dressed after breakfast.

2. My kids don't run around naked but they always take their socks off even in winter.

3. She does put undies on under the leotard and that is on her insistence to do it. I noticed the other little girls in her class had them on under too. You can't always tell because she wears tights underneath and a little skirt over.

my kids get dressed right when they wake up or u usually a hour after. my son sleeps naked. so, did my daughter but, i got her some CUTE pj's and she wheres them allot, you are not supposed to were underwear to gymnastics.

!: I get them dressed before noon. Sometimes before they leave their room in the morning. On rare occasion they will wear their pj's most of the day.

2: No naked stuff in my family. LOL. I have four girls, but they all sleep in clothes and although my youngest gets a kick out of running around naked, I only allow it in her room- we have windows, and I like natural light. I don't want some creep catching eye of my naked girl. .

3: all my girls have done ballet. they always wear underwear unless it is during a performance. They have skirts that cover it and there's a way to make the underwear not show.

i work outside the home, but on weekends we are often in sweats or pj pants all day long, if we don't have plans. nope, my son has never liked running around naked. and all i have is one boy so he doesn't wear a leotard lol.

3 - Yikes! I did competitive gymnastics for years. NO UNDERWEAR. Aside from how uncomfortable/ ugly it is (and that every gym I trained at specifically stated NO underwear, there's always be a few rec parents who'd unknowingly send their girls in underwear)... underwear often get caught and pull both the underwear AND the leotard aside... and it's little vajayjays poking out all over the place during any kind of straddle or leg left. Shudder. Looking at someone's underwear AND privates all hour is just not cool. Which is exactly what happens. If you don't wear panties under a swim suit, ya don't wear them under a leotard.

2) Love naked. He's not the most naked child in my family (one of my brother's wins that award), but he's in the top 3. Kiddo sleeps raw all the time, and since he's a boy, it's shirtless in the summer. There are many, many, many occasions that requires suiting up (uniforms, suits for fancy events, snow suits)... when it's warm enough for skin only... why not?

1) In general my son showers and dresses every morning. We don't have to, since we homeschool, but we do. We also do pajama days periodically.

During the week my kids are dressed however once they get home from school they both change into pajamas. My two are 8 and 5. My son(5) would run around naked if I let him I'm sure, my daughter is miss proper when it comes to that. On the weekend if we are not going anywhere I see no point in making everyone get dressed. They are free to put on weekend clothes(aka play clothes)if they want to but I've no issue with us having pajama days on the weekend. This is also true for when everyone is on break from school.

I usually try to have my kids dressed by lunch time. Most of the time they get dressed after breakfast. I homeschool and my daughter loves doing school in her pajamas so I often let her.

Actually......none...We like to take a shower and get dressed, and then have breakfast, the same with the kids, they bathe or shower at night, they get up, they wash their faces, hands, brush their teeth and then they change.PJ's at home are usually just for sleeping. Besides that, the kids wear PJ's for Christmas, they are in a hurry to get their presents! (they change afterwards to have a nice breakfast)If we want to be comfortable, we just wear sweat pants and sweat shirts. Naked: nope around H.. However, my two kids when they go to the bathroom want to take off all their clothes, funny, when they are D., they get dressed again!
About the third point..no idea I don't have girls.

1. I dress them after bath which is usually after breakfast.
2. I dont allow them to run naked or partially naked. My daughter will remove her diaper if I she is in just underwear or pants :)

My 2 oldest are in school, so they get dressed first thing in the morning. We usually have stuff every Saturday, so on those days they don't have to get dressed right away, but we're usually out of the house by 10 at the latest. Church is early Sunday, so they dress right after breakfast. For my youngest, it just depends on his mood and my mood. Sometimes I dress him first thing when I change his diaper, sometimes not until just before we leave the house. On the rare day we don't go anywhere (volunteer at the school, library storytime, run errands, playdate, etc) he's usually dressed by 10 by his choice. He occasionally likes to take off his clothes (thankfully leave his diaper on!), but for the most part keeps them on. His big brothers like to run around with their shirts off on warm days, but are old enough to know they need to keep their pants on!

we stay in pj's until 11am. After we eat lunch then we get dressed because we have to take our 4 yr old to pre school.

On weekends they stay in their pj's all day unless they want to get dressed. We ask... they answer we go from there.

Up until they were potty trained they ran around naked also. When the older boys were home we made them... more like forced them to wear clothes.

When my grandchildren stay overnight they stay in the pjs the next day. So do I. lol It's 1pm now and I'm still in my jammies.

From the time he was 18 months old until he was 3 1/2 my son was VERY reliable about using the potty IF he was NAKED. He caught on to using the potty right away. Convincing him NOT to pee his pants was another story. Since I'd MUCH rather look at a baby butt than change a diaper he spent a LOT of time naked! Around 3 we turned the corner from "look at the cute naked baby" to "cover that thing up" and pushed harder at potty training. Now that he's FINALLY got the potty training thing down, I nag him to at least put undies on.

It's funny, I work overnights and he wears PJs just fine for the sitter or Grandma but at home he insists on sleeping naked....

#3. Hardly any moms put their kids in leo's with the underwear underneath. Leo's are like swimwear. They are moving around in gymnastics and their panties get all twisted and the leg openings will stretch up when the arms are stretched out on the uneven parallel bars, etc...then the child is picking at them all the time and it's just distracting.

So, no, no one that understands gymnastics or dance put underwear on their kids under a leo. It is uncomfortable.

If you are uncomfortable with them running around with out underwear perhaps you can slip on a pair of shorts over the leo or buy biketards.

And a lot of parents just let them go with just the leo and I do that too. It is fine with me but I really really hate to see little girls picking their underwear out of their hiney and it bagging down around their thighs and showing every one what it looks like.

1. We have jammies as part of our bedtime routine, and for both my boys was actually something they picked up on early as babies as meaning sleeptime. We get dressed right after breakfast and leave jammies for night-time.

2. No streaking in our house! As babies, in the summer we would let them go with just a diaper, but by 1 1/2-2 years, we start teaching some modesty.

Well, I think home is about being comfortable. I wear pjs whenever I can, and sometimes all day long (except for when I get out for a run or go to karate class, then I come in and shower and change into clean pjs...). If I'm not in pjs at home, I'm in sweats, and sometimes I'm in sweats that I wear as pjs... My daughter likes to get dressed more than I do. She will normally get herself dressed before noon on a stay-at-home day.

Naked is great, when it's warm enough here in MN. I have nothing against nakedness and do it whenever I feel like it. My daughter, too. We have the advantage of being an "all girl" household so that makes this easier.

My daughter doesn't do anything requiring leotards, me either.

We get outside or go do something physically active every day, so our at home attire doesn't stop us from getting enough exercise.

1. I dress my kids after their morning routine of breakfast and brushing their teeth. Once in a while we all have a lazy/pajama day on a Sunday. That's not a bad thing

2. All 5 of my kids when they were toddlers liked being naked, some more than others. One of my triplets, age 7, has no problem being seen by family members naked. He likes to shock.

3. My daugher, age 7, is in ballet. She used to wear undies under her tights because they were the Walmart kind with the seam that went up the crotch. Uncomfortable so undies were worn with them. Then I asked the dance teacher if another kind was available since I saw some girls wearing no panties. She told me that the dance store carried the kind with the lined crotch and are meant to be worn with no panties, no seam up the crotch. We've not gone back to the cheap kind since! It's more comfortable no matter what with no panties!

We have pj Sunday. The kids and sometimes the adults stay in pjs on Sundays and sometimes Saturdays. My older one likes to stay in her footie pjs.

I woke up this morning to my youngest yelling "nakey!" Sure enough, she had her diaper and pj pants off. She got naked a total of 3 times today thus far. I wouldn't mind if she didn't need the diaper. Today, I've given up. If she wants to be naked, why not? My older one occasionally wants to be naked. I'm fine with that.
