Quality Easter Eggs

Never heard of "mettle eggs." Don't know about quality plastic eggs either. Why the expense for "quality" when they will be used for such a short time anyway? I say go to a dollar store and go that route. The kiddos are only interested in whats inside the eggs anyway. They could care less if the plastic eggs cost $5 or 50 cents. I'm sorry I can't be more helpful. I hope you find what you are looking for, though.

Try local craft stores, like Roberts or Michaels. In fact, you can go online and see if they even have any before you spend time going in.

Check out Michaels craft store. I was just in there the other day getting little easter crafts to do with my 3 yr old daughter, and they had LOTS of different eggs. The plastic ones were in all sizes, even football sized! And they seemed thicker than the average cheapy ones. They also had wood and foam eggs for decorating, although those didn't open, but would be fun for hunting. Good luck, and Happy Easter!

In the Dollar Section in Target (the section by the baskets up front, usually), they have the best eggs! They are shaped like chics and some other shapes. They are adorable, bigger then regular plastic eggs, and very strong. I plan on keeping ours for next year. They are the best plastic eggs I've ever used!! I have also purchased some great ones from World Market and regret not hanging on to them!

I reuse the cheap plastic ones every year and don't have a problem with it. After the egg hunt the kids dump out their candy, etc. into a bag and I collect them back again. They don't really get a lot of wear and tear in my yard.

We always had so much fun coloring the REAL eggs and hiding for the kids and then the kids hide them for us. AND then, I make deviled eggs or egg salad. USE REAL EGGS.

As for plastic I like the ones I find at walmart. They come in a box and have themes...like noah's ark, jungle, flowers etc. They seem like thicker plastic then the cheapest ones. The only thsi is they are shaped like the theme....so the jungle theme has monkey faces on them, zebra, etc. They aren't perfectly round eggs.

Plastic eggs are plastic eggs. They're cheap regardless. I have never known of a metal egg. Do you know a woodworker? If so, perhaps they can make some for you, so long as you aren't planning on stuffing them. Maybe make some of your own out of clay or play doh and let them harden? Good luck!

I think I saw some metal eggs at our Dollar Tree.
