Are any of your babies using Protopic for atopic dermatitis/eczema?

What can I do next?

Hi J.,

All the products I use on my children are completely safe and eco-conscious. I love Melaleuca's Renew lotion for my youngest, Logan, because it completely clears up his eczema ... which is pretty bad on his belly when I don't slather lotion on him. Every doctor that we have taken him to say do NOT use soap on him and only bathe him a couple times weekly. He's 12 months old and has no body odor issues so this works well for us. I also use Seventh Generation wipes for his diaper changes. I can get you more info on Melaleuca's products if you like. Here's my info:

No, we're using a combo of Eucerine & Hydracortisone. Both can be purchased over-the-counter & Wal Mart sells generic versions for cheap.

I used it for some spots on my baby's face (he was about 27 months). The eczema seemed to be bothering him and he would scratch it. I used it until the redness when away then stopped. I followed all the other precatuions for eczema as well. We didn't see any side effects from using it.
hope this helps.

No, but my baby has had skin issues, particularly on her face, since she was 3 weeks old. I only use California Baby Calendula Cream, and it works wonders...

J.,

I'm not using either but I was just in a store called Green Cradle on Ventura Blvd in Sherman Oaks/Studio City. It is an organic baby/mommy store and I was asking for advice for my friend who has a 6 month old. He has had really bad exzema since he was born. She said it is one of the most common problems with mothers that come to the store. She said to switch soaps to one that is TRULY organic soaps. There are only two certified organic by the government. In order to receive this label everything in it needs to be edible.

She said that so many moms are looking for a lotion, but after they switch to one of these soaps they come back amazed at how it did the trick!

I hope you find what does the trick for your little one!
