Does anyone know of a pediatrician or family practice that will work with parents on an alternative vaccine schedule. my current pediatrician is pro-vaccine schedule as recommended by the cdc. she pretty good about respecting where i stand on this subject. I would like to find a doctor that will not only respect my opinion but also work with me on the schedule. I feel like my current pediatrian isn't exactly comfortable doing the vaccine schedule in any other way, so i'm left to figure a schedule out for myself. there was a post on here a few months ago but i can't find it now; i believe it was for a doctor in phoenixville. if you know of any other doctors surrounding the norristown area, i'm open to suggestions. Thanks!

Someone else mentioned Steiner Medical Center, I think it is actually in Phoenixville, off route 23. It is a family practice rather than a pediatrician's office so my whole family has gone there. They do a great job of offering traditional medicine and also alternative methods and don't make you feel bad about what you choose. They even split vaccines that are normally combined and other doctors' offices will tell you that it can't be done. Even though it was more expensive, I had my daughter's vaccines split to be given individually since Dr. Cantor suggested it is safer.

Another great place is Steiner Medical Center in Royersford. My little guy is 6mo and hasn't been vaccinated. They recommend not vaccinating till 2yrs and even then are flexible. Good luck

Hi S.! I use Cowpath Peds in Lansdale, I know the peds at LMG will also vaccinate on an alternative schedule. Both will tell you better to vaccinate using Academy of Peds recommendations (I feel like a disclosure), but will alternatively vaccinate...

Hi S.,

We go to Woodlands Healing & Research Center up in Quakertown, PA. Its about a 45 minute ride for us from Jenkintown, but WELL worth it. Its a practice of about 5 doctors, all of whom approach health from a holistic standpoint. They would be more than welcoming to your alternative vaccine schedule.
Their web address is www.woodmed.com. We see Dr. DiSantino.

Best wishes with your search! Luckily, the tide is turning and I think we will be able to find more of these doctors in the near future. :)

Meg

I know that a lot more people are going that way any more. I have stepped up and not allowed some shots all together. If they are not needed for school, then i don't want my children to get them at all. I go to trappes ped over on 113 in the collegivelle are. There it depends on what doc u have. It is good that u are putting your foot down know about what u want for ur child. Keep it up and the doctors will not walk all over u.
