Private or Charter School Suggestions

Moms, I need your advice on choosing a private or charter school for my children. In the past, we have homeschooled (4 years), done private school (2 years) and currently in public school (finishing our 3rd year). My children are girls ages 11 and 9, and my son who is 7. My girls are very smart and advanced. My son, who is in 2nd grade and the only one of my kids to have never been homeschooled or private schooled, is struggling academically. I would like to find a private or charter school where my kids can stay until they graduate. The private school where they used to go is not an option. Can anyone tell me about their experiences with local (Arl or FTW) private or charter schools? I am considering Grace Prep. I was considering Oakridge until I heard that the kids there act like rich snobs (I've heard that from several different sources). I'm curious about Pantego Christian Academy, and I've also heard about a few charter schools in FTW - Hill and Trees or something? Any advice is helpful. Thank you.

I have heard wonderful things about Pantego, I spend a few weekends a month with a 10 year old who attends there. She is very sweet.

My niece (17 yrs old & a senior) goes to Treetops in Euless. I know they have all grades there but our experience has just been with the upper school. She really likes it; she moved down here with us at the beginning of the year and we didn't want to send her to the local public school. Anyway, she says the learning is different & not as "standardized' as at a public school. One of the mom's on this group teach at the school so hopefully she will answer your post. If she doesn't see it, I'll message her & let her know that you have questions. Good luck!

Check out The Flint Academy www.FlintAcademy.com to see if this is the right school for you and your family. I am the founder, so of course, I think the school is wonderful. It is a Charlotte Mason style school, so it is popular with homeschoolers (Christian studies, narration style learning along with multisensory, hands-on learning, classical literature, ancient history, Latin, phonics, development of inner, quality habits rather than just a list of rules, no homework, no uniforms, Monday through Thursday, for Pk-12th).

My son is at GP this year after attending at another private school in FW and we are loving it. He is happy again & challenged & HOME!! more often which we love. I HS my 7 year old so it is nice to have the oldest "off" a few days a week so we can get work done & do fun stuff while places aren't crowded ;)

Take a look at St Paul's off 287. Its the school run by overcoming faith church. I have a few of my church members who have sent their children there and they are doing great.

Summit International Preparatory in Arlington if fantastic. My Son struggled in public school b/c of an undiagnosed learning disorder that the public school refused to test for or help him in any way. Summit has done so much to help him without allowing him to use it as an excuse. We finally got a diagnosis and they jumped right on everything to get him the resources he needed. They are so supportive to families and students and yet they have high goals and expectations for every student. I cannot say enough good things about this school.
