Princess Cake for a One Year Old Birthday

Looking for a moist, beautiful princess cake for our daughter's first birthday.

What can I do next?

Are you wanting to make it yourself or get it from a bakery? I made one for a friend's birthday using a square pan and a round pan and ice cream cones. If you want to make it yourself, there is a great website with tons of pictures and forums to ask questions of some very talented people as well as recipes for moist cakes and yummy icings. It's www.cakecentral.com and it's free to join. If your wanting to buy one, I'd check with some local bakeries. They will be more willing to cusomize a cake for you. Just keep in mind it'll be costly. If you make it yourself, it'll take a lot of time, but will be a fraction of the cost.

I dont know if you are wanting to buy one or make one yourself.

I made a cake for my daughter last year a castle using a cake pan. I made her a strawberry cake..it was beautiful but took me a long time to make it.

I thought about doing it again this year for her 2nd birthday but decided to buy.

I did see at Michales a kit to make a 3D looking cake...with windows, doors and pillers. It was only $20 not much and looked very easy to make.

I don't know where you live, but Kathy Martinez has a business in Arlington called Icing on the Cake. She is the best. The cakes are decorated absolutely adorable and taste phenomenal. You will never want another cake. Check out her website. Is is www.icingonthecake.us. Click on the children link and there is examples to choose from. She will customize anything you want. If you send her a picture of whatever you want she can do that too. You will not be dissapointed.

I have had great success with Texas Star Bakery. Look on the web-site to see m,any different princess themed cakes.

Good Luck,
H.

My mom always made mine. Here's instructions on how to do it...

If you dont have the Pampered Chef Classic batter bowl, here is something you can get at JoAnne's that will work...

Just use a barbie doll or a princess barbie doll of some sort for the body.

Or if that's too difficult, JoAnne's has a princess crown cake pan that is simpler...

If you are wanting one already made, check with the Tom Thumb Bakery. They make really good cakes and have a book of different types of decorations you can choose from, I'm pretty sure they have a princess cake.
