We are throwing our son a "Little Prince" 1st Birthday party. Does anyone have any ideas. I really need ideas on activities for the kids at the house. They range from 1-8 years old.

I can recommend a great source for party favors...I recently hosted a princess party and ordered candy bags with personalized labels from www.whirlibird.com They were the hit of the party! Each label said "Happy 3rd birthday "NAME" - and the other side read "Hope you had a Royally good time". I filled each bag with Hershey kisses. For a craft, I went to Hobby Lobby and purchased several little foam crowns and royal themed foam door hangers with royal themed stickers for them to deocrate. The kids of all ages loved them and they also took their creations home as a favor. Party City offers little prince crowns for 99 cents and tiaras for the girls can be found at Dollar General. You'd be amazed at what you can find at the dollar store for little price/princess parties. Good luck!

At the Dollar Tree they have a bag of bath frogs you could do some activity with that and then they get to keep them. They also have the light up wonds. I would go to Burger King and see if they will give you crowns and they could decorate them.
You could do prince and the pea and have someone hide a green ball somewhere and the first one to find it gets a prize. The ball could be any size.
Sounds like a cute party have fun!

Hey M.!
It seems like everyone has given you such great ideas for the perfect "prince" party!
Have you thought of maybe hiring a professional children's photographer to capture his awesome 1 year old event?
I will be more any happy to do this for you, as I am looking to expand my "birthday" gallery. I can even do some just shots of him alone prior to his big day.

Let me know what you think =) I am sure I can work out a really awesome price as well since you are helping me out too.

Have you thought about hiring an entertainer? I can recommend James Wand (www.jameswand.com). He'll come and keep the kids entertained and laughing for 45 minutes. I know it's hard to think of things for an age range like that, and your son is a little young yet, but the older kids will definitely enjoy the magic show!

You could make crowns. Precut crowns out of construction paper and you could have crayons, markers and stickers to decorate the crowns with...

how about making princess crowns or wands? You could make all the little girls tutus out of tulle and ribon, or let the older kids make them themselves, just cut the tulle into strips and then let them tie it around a ribbon until it makes a tutu. Maybe you could do a charm class, or let them have a princess tea party.

For our 2 year old's bday party we took the coffee table, moved it into the kitchen, covered it with a bday plastic table cloth. Then we bought playdoh(very cheap 4 cans for $1.89) and then cookie cutters, toy rolling pins(these can be found at the $1 section in target or the dollar tree). The kids spent hours making playdoh creations. Then each kid went home with their own fresh can of playdoh and a cookie cutter for the party favor. It was a big hit, and it was something that they could walk away from and come back to, and it wasnt messy at all!

Hi M. -

going along the theme of little ones liking the box more than the gift, I would suggest calling a local Southern Living at HOME rep to see if you can get any boxes from one of their parties (host a party and they'll love you!). I would just put them out in the family room or driveway and let the kids play. The smallest ones will love just playing, the older ones will love being able to build the Little Prince's castle. Cut some windows in the boxes ahead of time and give them older ones something to decorate the boxes with - even chalk works well. My kids and their friends loved playing with these boxes - they are guaranteed to be a hit!

Have fun!
