Present for Nanny
I am wondering what I should get our Nanny for her birthday. We love her to pieces, I just don't know what I would do without her, and my daughter loves her as well. She is wonderful, an angel, and I am lost when it comes to giving her a gift. Anyone have any good ideas?

You can't go wrong with a really nice spa package. Cold Water Creek Spa in Santa Rosa is a great choice. Any 22 year old would love a little pampering!

I think that giving her a little "bonus" plus something nice like a gift certificate to a store or a day spa would be well appreciated. Maybe something that your kids have made especially for her to make her feel like part of a family and not just an employee.

She is 22 so it may be great to just give her a great day off...with a visa gift card or a spa day. But try and research a bit as well. Is she is college? Maybe something for school also maybe an extra somethign she can do with the kids. Also have your daughter make her something...even just a homemade cake.
And if you are interested take a look at my site ...I can put together a gift basket for you at no charge...just purchase the products of your choice I will throw in the gift basket.

How about a gift certificate to a nice restaurant and some extra spending cash? Or perhaps a gift card for a store where she likes to shop (I think it's nice to add a bit of cash to whatever gift you give your nanny, but that's a personal decision).

I would suggest a necklace with like a "mother and child" I have seen some with the adult and child shaped into a heart and they are about $100.00 I know some caregivers aren't into spas but a necklace symbolising the nanny and child relationship would be special and sentamental... good luck and HAPPY BIRTHDAY NANNY!!!

A nice day out for herself would probably be wonderful. A gift certificate to a spa for a massage and a pedicure or anything like that would make her feel special for a day, and some extra spending cash would top off the gift. You can display the gift certificate in a nice basket with some lotions, or candles, chocolate and stuff for her to have at home, just let her feel like it's all for her and a huge thank for all she does, have fun putting it together so she can tell you put a lot of thought into it.

What are her hobbies, if she has any? Do you ever notice she seems to shop at a specific store? Is there a GREAT restaurant she always raves about? Whoever I'm buying for, these are things I start with for ideas.
If you can't think of anything else, EVERYONE loves money. When giving cash as the main gift, there a few ways to jazz it up. You can buy a cute but inexpensive purse or wallet to put the money in, and then wrap that up. I also LOVE putting it in a frame to wrap it. You can fold most bills just right so that in a wallet size frame it is only the president’s head that shows. This seems to make the “cash” gift less tacky, and I have ALWAYS received positive feed back for “such a cute idea” when others see it.
Hope it helps~ J.
BTW- a heart felt Thank You letter with everything you've told us about may be a far better gift than even a $100 trinket.
