Present for Mother in Law..

Hello, ladies....

I have no ideas what to give as a present for my mother in law. She will be 56 years. She is in other country, so gift cards would not work. Also she is very practical women. I cannot buy any fragile things,as I will need to send to Europe. Also she doesn't understand English :(
Maybe someone have any ideas?

What can I do next?

I'll bet that the good old American dollar still spends pretty good over there! why don't you send some of it, with a note about how she should have a night out of the kitchen on you!

I make knitted cloths which were originally used to wash dishes, clean counters, etc. however I use them to clean anything including my eyeglasses because they are knitted from 100% cotton yarn which makes them perfect for many things. They are light and would be easy to ship without worry. They are simply a square knitted diagonally. Perhaps I can help you out.

A friend of mine gave me a wind chime that has such a
sweet ring. She died 3 months later, unexpectantly.
Every time I hear the ring I think sweet thoughts of her.
It doesn't have to be a death, but I think it would be
a nice reminder that someone very far away loves her.
good luck.

I think a scrapbook is also a wonderful idea for anyone. I made one for my father and he's the type of father that doesn't usually show emotions. I got pictures of him when he was younger and some with his mother who has past on, he loved it so much it brought him to tears. If you need ideas on creating one go to www.twopeasinabucket.com and go to their member gallery. They have a tons of ideas on any theme you can think of.

go to walgreens.com and make her a photo book
or some type of photo gift that is not glass
I did this for all of my father's day gifts and everyone LOVED them!!!
You can make them really easy by uploading your digital photos.
You can also have walgreens ship it (I am not sure if they ship out of the country but you can call the toll free number and find out)

What about something Texan? I know lots of people in other countries and they've always liked something peculiar to TX. There's edibles, shirts, frames, lots of stuff. there's three stores in the Houston Galleria http://www.simon.com/mall/directory.aspx?ID=805 I found these listed under Gifts, Home Furnishings, and Specialty shops categories on the above link.

Texas and the Territories

Gifts of Texas

Texas Souvenirs Unlimited

There are other such shops around town and you can buy online too, but it's nice to know there's one place you can go and shop at three different tx stores.

My mother-in-law has very limited English too, but the one thing that brings her much joy is pictures! Does she have a computer? Get video cameras for you and her so you can communicate "Live". Another computer thing, is there are numerous "photo albums" on the web that you can buy! Snapshot is another.

If computers aren't a choice, do it the old fashioned way...a scrapbook. You can find poems and translate them to add to it! This is something you can add on for each holiday, birthday, etc. There's nothing better that seeing something "daily" that you don't get to see very often in person! Best Wishes!

I went to a lady’s house and she was hosting piggies & paws. It’s a picture of your child hand or foot print made into a picture. Ex Angle, Pirate Ship, Flower. It is very cute and is something she can have for ever. Good Luck.

I love this website!! www.bags-purses-totes.com
Can't go wrong with a personalized carry on bag or or purse!

Photobooks are popular right now. Being so far away, I bet she'd love pictures of things you and your family are doing. The photobooks are really cute and longlasting treasures.
