The Gilbert public school preschool programs are wonderful! My daughter went to 2 different elementarty school preschool programs and we loved them both, she is now in Kindergarten at the school she went to for preschool and my son is now at preschool there also. I found that preschool through the public schools is much more affordable than private preschool tuition. I think it's nice too because they get used to going to the school where they will go for Kindergarten so it's not so scary and new when they start. Most if not all Gilbert elementary schools should offer them. Good luck, I know it's so hard to decide on one!!

My daughter went to The Growing Place on Cooper and Ray. Also try the Wilkenson School it is on Gilbert Rd in the little Red School house just south of Elliot.

I live in Gilbert and my two children have gone to a Montessori preschool called Line Upon Line Montessori. Sheri is excellent with the children. My children thrived in the Montessori environment and I can't say enough good about Montessori or about the preschool my kids went to. Sheri is AMI certified (Association Montessori Internationale founded by Maria Montessori)) and she ran her own school for a long time, and now she does it out of her home in Agritopia (Higley and Ray) so it's significantly cheaper than most private Montessori schools. It is 3 days a week for 3 hours each day (you can choose either morning or afternoon) and it's $180 a month. Her schedule is Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. You can choose either morning (8:30-11:30) or afternoon (12-3).
I will message you her phone number and if any of you other mamas want her number, send me a message and I'll give it to you.

I love Montessori and recommend reading the book "How to Raise an Amazing Child the Montessori Way" and checking out the blog www.countingcoconuts.blogspot.com if you are interested in incorporating some of the Montessori approach and activities in your own home. It's great for the kids. I actually heard about the book here on Mamasource, and I love it and have done many of the activities out of it with my own kids.

We Love! Love! Love! Our preschool in Gilbert. It's First United Methodist Church Preschool of Gilbert. All three of our sons have gone there. It is an intimate, loving, safe environment to send your children. We couldn't be happier there. Good luck!

I am not sure what your budget is, but if you can afford to send your son to a private school, I would highly recommend that you consider New Vistas Academy. It is rated one of the top 10 schools in Arizona by Johns Hopkins and is a fantastic school. The only problem with sending your son to preschool there is that if you don't intend to keep him there in grade school, he will be a year or two ahead by the time he gets to kindergarten. My son went 1/2 day, 3 days a week last year, and full-day every day this year and he is reading at almost a 2nd grade level. He will start kindergarten there in August.
