We will be moving to Keller, Tx soon in Hidden Lakes. We are looking for a preschool/MDO for our 2yr old. We would like it to be near Hidden Lakes or in South Lake since we will be right next to it. Thanks!

A new pre-school opened up on North Tarrant County that offers dance, music. I don't know the name. My kids are grown, so I don't have a personal recommendation for it . . . but the advertisement looked cool! : )

Also, two new Montessori schools opened on Hwy 1709. One behind BlueStone Dental and the other down the road in Southlake, in the old La Petite Daycare building. My children attended Highland Meadow Montessori in Southlake when they were 2 thru 5. Maria Montessori, became a pioneer female medical doctor in Italy in the 1890's, then started her work to get disabled children an education & opened her first school in 1907. She designed many "sensory-touch", hands-on learning systems that are still used in certified Montessori schools today. Her teaching methods, even tho' originally designed for learning-handicapped kids, work great on normal kids, too!

All three of my kids went to First Baptist Church Keller K.I.D.S. MDO. I love them and recommend them highly. The teachers are wonderful and caring, the activities are fun and the teachers are creative, I miss them this year as my kids are all in school this year! but they are the best around!

We've been very happy at St. Martin-in-the-Fields Preschool. Excellent teachers, low staff turnover and lots of friendly families.

Welcome to TX! I have a 4 month old at Primrose Hidden Lakes. Since she is so young, I can't speak to the pre-school class but I love the infant teachers and the directors. Both the regional director and the school director's kids are in the older classes and have come up through the various classes so I feel like they have a personal interest in the quality of care since their kids are there. Everyone there is nice, responsive, listens and takes feedback well, greets us by name every day, follows up etc. I have heard great things about the education and curriculum too from the moms with older kids. My girl just smiles and coos when she sees her teachers.

I also have friends with kids at PSE (Pre School enrichment) in Keller. They love it. It is a Christian-based curriculum. They don't take infants so I did not personally check it out. Good luck with the move and feel free to message me if you need any other help with finding Drs or things down here.

WELCOME!! My family is fairly new here too and we LOVE it! I HIGHLY reccommend the new school in Southlake called the Goddard School. When we moved here, we toured a zillion places and just never felt like any were right until we found one Chrisatian based school (not named). We put our son in that school and were very very unhappy. He would cry every night for us to not make him go to school (he is five). We couldn't figure out what the deal was with that, nor that he wasn't learning anything useful-he was not progressing in phonics or math and was always upset. They said everything we wanted to hear but it wasn't translating into what we were experiencing with our son (one teacher even told him that he was not smart). We finally pulled him from the school with no where else to go. We prayed a lot on what to do. Thank the Lord, Goddard had just opened because we were out of options-we had seen everything else. I did MAJOR research but as you know that is only a tiny bit of the battle. I met Val, the owner and Lisa the Director and instantly felt comfortable. The kicker for us was the support they have from Corporate and the type of background and education they provide. We are so incredibly happy with what we are experiencing with Goddard. Every day we walk into that building with a smile and knowledge that our son is getting exactly what we expect. Suzanne is one of the BEST teachers around. She is attentive, lovely and highly educated and a perfect fit for our son. I have taught pre-school and so I indeed have high expectations-they have more than fulfilled those. Our son has learned more in the couple of months he has been at Goddard than he did all year at the other school. He can not wait to go to school! It is clean, new and beautiful with EVERYTHING the kiddos need for a proper learning environment and to just be kids. I can not reccommend it more highly and truly hope you will take a look at it as an option. It is well worth the look! There are NO uniforms too so that is a cost that you wouldn't have to bear. Hope this helps. Best of luck to you-please feel free to contact me should you have any further questions! stxlinda
