Hi A.,

My 3-yr. old attends The Heights Pre-school in Richardson. It is located at Renner and 75. We love it! It was his first school experience and it was wonderful!

My twin 2 year olds attend the Octopus Garden on Arapaho Road, east of 75. It is a small, warm, wonderful place. Check out their website at www.octopusgardenpreschool.com. Trust me, I researched a million places in the area and felt FABULOUS about this place. Also, the 4 year old teacher is wonderful!

A little about me:

I am a working mom of 2 year old twins

Octopus Garden is the best preschool in Richardson. I am a kinder teacher for RISD and have heard nothing but great things about this daycare/preschool. My coworker's daughter is in the 4 year old room and she is always telling me about all the awesome things her daughter is learning. Even some of our students have attended this school and they have fond memories as well. I strongly suggest taking a tour to find out more. I think you will fall in love with it! Good luck!

The Primrose School of Breckinridge Park is the best in the area, by far. The teachers are more qualified than those you would find at other facilities and the curriculum is superb.

I am a very selective and over-protective mom, so I really did my research when it came to choosing a preschool for my little prince and Primrose won by a mile. My son attended from age one until he began Kindergarten this past year and we were very happy with our decision to place him there. In school this year, he was ahead of most kiddos in his class (he was sent to 2nd grade for Reading class) and I attribute much of his success to the education he received at Primrose.

Visit www.primroseschools.com for more info. The Breckinridge Park location is near the intersection of Renner and North Star, next to Walgreens.

Good luck!

Greetings,

In R. on Lookout (across from Canyon Creek CC and near UTD) is Lookout Community Preschool (also called Lookout Lutheran Preschool). I have also just moved here but was raised here 18 years ago. I have a 2.5 year old daughter who has been attending.

They fill the whole building that was once a Lutheran church and are loosely affiliated with a chruch in Garland. That said theres nothing "churchy" about them save for the "bible stories" one day a week. VERY innoucuous.

The enrolement is VERY small and they take kids 2 and up. The 2 year olds DO NOT have to be potty trained.

The atmosphere is warm and homey. We came from a "family home daycare" in Chicago that was very small and homey and LCS appealed right away.

Jean Smith is the Director. They're running a summer session for July starting next week - so you could stop by.

They offer 5 days a week and down. Half days and extended care until 4 pm. "Scholarships" are also available.

I'll drop you another note with their phone number.

There's another school called R. Community Preschool CO-OP (or something like that) that is having an open house next week. I'll find that info and write again.

Good luck and welcome to Texas. (Please excuse my spelling)

Welcome to Richardson! My 3-yr old daughter is at Montessori School of North Dallas near Frankfort & Preston. However, you might look into pre-k at your public school. Good luck!

My son is now 7 1/2 years old. He went to First Baptist Richardson pre school, Ms Wilson, and it was great. It was a very good experience and I was new to the area then.
Hope this helps.

A.,

Murphy Road Baptist Church in Murphy is starting a Parents Day Out/Preschool 2 days week beginning in August. Your 2 year old could also enroll if you are interested (they start at age 1). The contact is Rita Montgomery at ###-###-####. I am on staff at the church and have my almost 1 year old enrolled already.
