Hello All! I have been touring preschools and need some advice. If any one has any experience with any of these preschools (or can recommend any other great ones) I would appreciate your input! We need full-time care in the Grapevine/Colleyville/Southlake Area.

1. Creme de la Creme Colleyville

2. Primrose Hall-Johnson and/or Hidden Lakes

3. Colleyville Montessori School

4. Carpe Diem Private Preschool

Thanks in advance!

Creme de la Creme- Colleyville when my daughter was 2 we had here there for about 5 months- what I noticed is that the teachers are not highly qualified- beautiful school- but I was not impressed by their staff. They have tvs you can use to watch the kids in the waiting room- which is where I saw a teacher sit and not interact with the children as two of them hit each other.
Beautiful school- unimpressive staff.

I did not have my kids at Primrose- but when I toured the staff were in cut off shorts and I saw one check her cell phone.

I didn't check the Montessori

I took my 2 year old girl out of Creme and put her in Carpe Diem as soon as it opened. She is now 5 and her brother is 2 and there as well. The teachers are exceptional. I feel confident that I'm leaving my kids with educators who truly love my children. I log onto my phone any time of the day, or computer and can see what they're doing. I love that feature.

Anytime a teacher has been sub-par- they've been let go. I can not say enough good things about this school. It has seriously been an answer to my prayers.

I don't live in that area (we are in McKinney), but when we researched preschools we looked them up on the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services website:

https://www.dfps.state.tx.us/Child_Care/Search_Texas_Chil...

That tells you the results of their annual inspection and observation.

I would also ask specifically about teacher turnover in the past 2 years, and the likelihood your children would have the same teachers the entire year. The commitment of the teachers usually says a lot about the school and the director, and there were a few big name schools we looked at that had extremely high turnover.

Go to each school at the end of the day and ask a parent (who looks like you--professional? same age? same age child?) at each school how they like it and what they do not like about it. That is the best market research.
