Preschool for 4 Year Old
Hi everyone...we are new to the area and I'm just now starting to look for preschools! So far, I'm having a hard time, because I would prefer something Christian based (but can be traditional) for a 4yo and 2-3 days a week. I keep finding 4 day programs and I really don't want that many days. Does anyone have any suggestions? I would love her to be able to meet new friends at school.
We live near Riggs and McQueen, so a drive within 10-15 minutes is also a bonus!
Thanks!

K., I don't know how you feel about Montessori methods, but my 5 and 3 year old sons are excelling. By 5yo is reading, he began the program at age 4. The Adobe Montessori in Chandler is cheaper than KinderCare (although I love KinderCare at Chandler/Kyrene).
Good Luck!

I love Kinderbugs! It's on Pecos in between Power and Recker. They do have an option for a 3 day Pre-K. They are great there! Wonderful Curriculm and great staff!

Seeds of Knowledge Preschool is located within Seville Country Club at Riggs/Recker. You do not have to be a member to send your child to school there. They have a two and three day a week program. My friend's son went there last year and loved it, and I am putting my daughter there this year! The number for the preschool is ###-###-####.
Good luck! It's always a tough decision!

Hi K.!
Check out greatschools.net for preschools in your area.
I have a couple recommendations.
There is a Christian Montessori school at Chandler Heights and McQueen. Here is the website: http://www.montessorichristian.org/
Also, there is a place called the Success Center, which I have two friends who's children are there. You get a great discount if you pay the month in advance! Good luck!

Hi K.,
My cousin just enrolled her 4 yo daughter at Risen Savior on Alma School between Riggs and Chandler Heights. She did a ton of research and is really picky so I would check them out. My daughter is only two so I don't have much personal experience for you.

Sorry for late response K.! Just came across your request and had to share my experience with Morningstar Academy. They are a mother/daughter team located at Greenfield and 202 area. We are sending our 3 y/o (and our 5th child) there and are beyond thrilled to have found them! Located on charming acre with beautiful outdoor area and garden, and homey preschool set up in guest home. The 4 y/o class meets 3 days, M, W, and F. Look up Morningstar Academy online and definitely plan a visit to meet Ms. Ginger and Ms. Jamie! Awesome women and environment!
Best wishes to you!

Hi, our family is also new to AZ and we live in Mesa. I don't know how far you are going to be but my 4 year old goes to First Baptist Children's Center. They are at 4801 E. Brown Road in Mesa and are a Christian pre-school. You have your choice of days (2x, 3x, 4x or daily) and hours (half or full day). It also offers daycare and after-school care. The preschool has a well-rounded program. Another good thing with this is that when the pre-schoolers are ready for kindergarten, they can attend Faith Christian School which is housed in the same building and is a non-denominational K to 12 school. My 8 year old attends Faith. Also, the school directors/principals of both are knowledgeable, efficient and accomodating. I am very happy with both the preschool and the school. Do check it out.

There is a preschool at Ray and Alma School called Ray of Light. It is christian based and located on the property of Epiphany Lutheran (although, I believe it is not strictly lutheran). From what I hear, it is an excellent pre-school. That's where I'll be sending my daughter this year. I have heard of one at Christ Greenfield that is supposed to be really good as well. But for us, Ray of Light is closer. Hope this info helps.
