Preschool for 3 Year Old - Salt Lake City,UT

I really loved the 'lab' preschool at the U of U. It is through the Family and Consumer studies department and uses a lot of students in the child development program to have plenty of adults there, but there is a head teacher who has graduated in that field. They also take kids of a lot of different backgrounds to get a well balanced group. They do use the school for studies, but always tell parents what it is going to be and get permission from parents before including kids in the study. I'm not sure what applications deadlines are. But this is a great preschool - had 2 of my kids go there as well as working there myself.

One of the best preschools in the area is Holladay Preschool - but it's pretty tough to get into. Call right away to at least get on the waiting list ###-###-####. It is reasonably priced and has great teachers & programs. It is located at about 4800 S and 2400 E.

There's a pretty good montessori school at 6400(ish) South and 700th East.

We have done both here in SLC with our daugher. Community Montessori on 1700S and Foothill is good. We favored the traditional route and LOVED avenues preschool. THey have 3 locations and are outstanding!

little learners preschool is opening up at 5300s 494e in september. this is a christian preschool at the murray park church of christ. not sure if you're interested or not. . . but if so, come by and grab a flier. i attend the congregation but am not the one who will be running the school, good luck on the move!

I love Sing With Me Preschool. It's in the teacher's home and she uses music to teach all your regular preschool curriculum, plus she has a few minutes each day dedicated to music/singing/dance.

Right now her home is under construction, so it's a little crazy, but she is so much fun with the kids. She gets right down on the floor with them, teaching at their level, and they love Miss Shelley so much!

She is a bit of a drive, on 1300 West and about 7800 South. www.shelleymusic.typepad.com
