Preschool Bake Sale

My daughter's school is having a bake sale next week to raise funds for playground equipment. Any suggestions for what you have seen go over well? Cannot have peanuts or peanut butter and I would prefer not to make cookies since I don't have great luck with cookies. Thank you in advance for your suggestions!

What can I do next?

anything with frosting, sprinkles or a candy on top will sell quickly!

I have also seen the "loaves" of bread go quickly too- parents buy them and freeze them for visitors or breakfast. I know I do! I hate to bake, so when the opportunity comes up to buy something "homemade" and for a cause, I'm a willing customer!

cup cakes. Every time I did bake sales those sold fast, especially to kids. the parents might buy the bigger stuff for dinner or whatever but would buy a cupcake for their kids to eat right there. Individual wrap them and use a toothpick to keep the plastic off the icing better. The individual small stuff sells faster. Could sell 3 cookies in a baggie for 1.00. Cupcakes went for .50 easily.

I like to make brownies in cupcake pans to get more edge (my favorite part.) My mother is famous for her cupcakes and they always went well at bake sales. You can make Rice Krispie treats and dip them halfway in chocolate to be gourmet-ish.

Something to remember for bake sales is that presentation is more than half. It is important to find a way to individually package your offereings and make them pleasing to the eye. Make sure you lable exactly what is what. If you use almonds in your cake, lable it so someone else can sell it but answer questions (in case of allergies.)

Ok. Now I'm hungry!

How about banana bread? It always goes over well. It's something we always look for at a bake sale. Also, you could add mini chocolate morsels to your recipe. When I've made this people always comment on how they would have never thought of it. Yummy! Happy baking...............

cup cakes, quick breads (for breakfast). Sometimes I see store bought stuff. You can get cookies and put on disposible plates wrap with plastic and ribbon.

Good Luck

Big pickles and lemonade.

We found that kids LOVE pickles and at Bake sales we never fail to sell out. Also if there is nothing to drink you miss out. Believe it or not, there are lots of people that do not care for baked goods.

Cupcakes and brownies always seem to be a big hit. If you are up for making candies (individual pieces or on a stick) those are good too.

Depends on who they're selling to and if they prefer items that can be sold as an individual snack, or items that be sold as a dessert.

Dessert - pies always sell well. Or a cake that is decorated for small children

Individual - rice crispie treats, cup cakes, muffins

-vanilla cupcakes w/ vanilla frosting and colorful sprinkles.
-rice krispie treats plain with some colored or with candy in some like gummy bears or chocolate.
-sugar cookies with two color icing
-danish cookies without nuts

I make everything homemade; so if u have the time it will taste much better and your daughter can help you.
