Preschool - Carrollton,TX

Hi there,
I am a Montessori Preschool teacher and honestly 3 years old is the perfect age. This is when they are really coming into thier own personality and become more social. I think it is a great idea. Children of this age need constant interaction, stimulation, friends and this is also a perfect age to get a jumpstart on phonetics, numbers and quantities, structure and more! Great job for putting her in an academic and social program before she hits Kinder. I see this so often and the kids that just go from home to school are totally out of their element and it takes so much longer to adjust.Good luck!

I started my kids out in Montessori when they were 18 months and the results are amazing. They are so responsible and well behaved and my 2 yr old already knows all his sounds and is chatting non-stop. We were going to a small Montessori school in Plano but we moved and are now at Lakeside Montessori. The facility is beautiful and lots of security features. You can google them if your intrested. They are at 121 and Main.

My son is 3 and is in the public school system in Carrollton and loves it. He goes Mon-Fri 1/2 day and it's free but not sure if it's cause he is in the Spectrum and has some delays. There is Kelly Preschool which is a new school in Carrollton. If not I would highly suggest a MDO instead.

I think this is a great age. Actually, I started my 2 1/2 year old daughter in a 2 day/week program last fall and it was wonderful. She has been asking about going back to school all summer. The program we attend (Little Saints in North Dallas) is affiliated with a church, but we are not members. In addition to learning the basics such as colors, letters, and numbers, my daughter learned how to express herself in new ways, whether it was through art, play or through communication. They are such sponges right now. I feel the more they are exposed to in an appropriate way, the more they learn about themselves. Good luck.

Why not try a Mother's Day Out instead? They still help out with all the social skills that preschools do, and most still do some academic work. We use Christian Life Assembly in Carrollton and love them. MDO is usually cheaper than preschool too! If you still want a school, I have had friends recommend Glen Hollow Day School (very academically oriented) and Carrollton Montessori.

THe curriculum is like nothing I have ever seen and the teachers are all certified and wonderful with the kids.

Are you wanting full time care or part time? It sounds to me like you are wanting something part time, like Mother's Day Out or a preschool. Most MDO or Preschools do 2 to 3 days a week for about 4-5 houts per day. Check with local churches, as many of those have MDO or Preschools.

My daughter is in Preschool 3 days a week (MWF) from 9am to 2pm and she loves it. She loves the social part, but she is learing so much as well.

I think 3 is the perfect time. That is when they really start "school" programs and the interaction will be great. My son, who is now 3, went to Kids R Kids when he was an infant so that is naturally where I started looking for preschool. Prices range depending on that certain facilites program, but I think it is about 250.00 a week.
