For the little ones (3-7) I recommend Dunedin Monessori on Michigan Ave in Dunedin. Both of my boys went there and *Love* Ms. Joy and Ms. Ann. We have been very happy there.

M.- we love Suncoast Waldorf School in Palm Harbor on Curlew. They have drop in visitor's days every Thursday 9-12. website is http://www.suncoastwaldorf.org . They are not Montessori, but teach head and heart through arts based curriculum. There was a great article featured in the St. Pete Times last Sunday too!

Well I was excited to tell you about my son's Montessori school but I see you live in Dunedin. He attends Country Day School in Largo. It's an awesome montessori school and we love it!!! It is in a country setting (thus the name), horses, a turkey, miniature donkey, lamb, chickens, etc. Neat way to integrate in to class room studies. A pool for swimming lessons during the summer. They really work to make it a community instead of a school. www.countrydaylargo.com Can't say enough good things about the school!!

Hi M.!
Sorry I don't know, is a Montessori a Catholic school? I live in Clearwater and I just checked out this great little preschool down the street from my house. It is St. Pauls Lutheran Wee Folks Pre-School. I met the teacher and saw the classroom and even took my daughter to introduce her on my second visit. And I have to say that I am really impressed by the wonderful sweet but firm spirit that the teacher has. All of the children were happy and listening well to the teacher and behaving really well during our visit, to me that says a lot. I've been to daycares where the other children will get up and out of hand while I was checking it out, which can be pretty normal. So like I said, I was pretty impressed by this. And during our visit my daughter looked at me and said that I could 'Go' and pick her up later! She really liked the teacher, kids and classroom atmosphere. The teacher of the 3/4 yo's is Miss Jeni, and right now there are only girls in the class! What a wonderful little haven for little princesses. In the classroom there are several different centers and each week there is a new theme. Last week was 'I'm the teacher' week and she had a little desk set up in the corner for the 'little teachers', with all of the makings. It looked so fun for the kids. Miss Jeni seems to be very organized, she has a weekly and monthly Wee Folk's newsletters for the parents. My daughter will be starting sometime in the next few weeks, but there are openings right now. It is on the corner of Gulf to Bay and Saturn (near Keene), 407 S. Saturn Ave., Clearwater, 33755; ###-###-####, ext. 230. The preschool hours are from 9-12, but they also have extended hours. They are open from 7:30am-4:30pm, but they are going to start staying open until 5:30pm real soon for the working parents that need the extra hour.

I hope this helps and God bless you and your family. :)

Hi M.,
My husband and I looked at Montessori on Nebraska it is nice. Expensive but nice. Also when you are there drive west on Nebraska there are two other schools that I have heard are good. Spring Valley and New Horizons are on the corner of Belcher and Nebraska. A couple Moms I met at the park said they like New Horizon even better than Montessori....
Good Luck!

Hi M.,

I send my son to the Montessori school in Clearwater, near the Icot Center. He's 2 1/2 and has been going there over a year, and really enjoys it. The staff are very caring and I would recommend it if you are looking for a school.

Good luck,
T.
