I am looking for a suggestion on a preschool for my 3 year old in Frisco. I am looking for a 2 or 3 day program all day. I am looking for a school that will prepare her for Kindergarten. Does someone LOVE their school and why?

Ditto... Apple Creek Preschool - locations in Frisco and Allen. WONDERFUL!! Both my sons attend this year in in their 2s program and Pre-K; we also were there last year. You need to stop in, meet the staff, look at the classes and cirriculum. I was amazed last year when my 4 year old was reading phonetically based words at the end of the school year. Good luck!!!

We LOVE Apple Creek Preschool!! YOu have to go check it out. They are accredited by the National Association of Young Children....very high quality. The curriculum is age appropriate...both challeging and fun. Low teacher student ratio's and kindergarten preparedness is the goal! We have been going for 2 years. They only have half day programs...either 2, 3 or 5 days a week...but they have a stay and play program that goes until 2 pm (we are enrolled in that too). I love the open door policy...the warmth of the whole place and the teachers and staff are great!! Their number is ###-###-####.
Check them out...we are so happy we did!
Good luck

We LOVE Spanish Schoolhouse. My son has gone there three years (he is doing Kindergarten there this year). I tell everyone that we started going there because of the Spanish immersion, but now that is just a bonus to us. Talk about being ready for school! They do all the typical preschool activities (cutting, letters, drawing, singing, art, science, reading) - it's just that they do it all in Spanish. By the way, they do have English class where they work on the English letters etc - and I was AMAZED at all he learned in that class each week.
My son had a spelling test the other day and I was helping him prepare for it. And I said - spell this word. He asked me if I wanted him to spell it in Spanish or English. I said Spanish of course. He started spelling it using the Spanish alphabet - and he didn't even have to think about it. He is reading so well! In English and Spanish! I owe the majority of that to Spanish Schoolhouse. He is MORE than prepared for 1st grade!
Have fun on your search!

Preston Meadow Kids' Day Out is a wonderful preschool. Our daughter attended for 4 years and our son is in his second year. The children leave preschool ready for kindergarten. The staff and director are marvelous. Classes begin at 1 year and walking and go through kindergarten. We like that each age is divided into 3 classes: young, middle, and old. Spanish and music are part of the curriculum. They just added an indoor play area this fall for rainy days and the children love it. School hours are 9:15 to 2:00 and 2 to 5 days per week are offered. Here is a link to their web site:

They are located on Coit just south of Legacy in Plano. We live in Plano but used to live in Frisco and the drive wasn't bad.

St. Paul Lutheran Church on Independence, just a little south of Legacy. No its not Frisco, but well worth the extra 2 minutes to drive it! My daughter was reading long before the school year was over. The kids have Spanish, Computers, and Music. The program is very well established and the director is truly God sent. The programs they put on for the kids, and with the kids are exceptional. I can't say enough wonderful things about them. Please don't write them off your list because of location, they are well worth any extra time. Call and go for a visit.

My daughter went to Apple Creek and LOVED it!

First, it's always good when your child enjoys school. She never wanted to miss a day. Second, there was an acceptable teacher child ratio for us. (I don't like classes that are too big. I feel that children can be more easily overlooked in larger settings.) Third, it is Apple Creek's goal to prepare the children for school. They do this in a fun environment. Our teachers were great. We still know many families who have children there and we still hear how wonderful it is.

I would recommend making an appointment to see the class your child might be in next year. See how the teachers interact and see if it's a good fit for your child.

I worked at the pre-school at First Baptist Frisco. It is called Sonshine Academy. I had to take a leave of absence because I go diagnosed with breast cancer in November. I am planning on returning in the fall. My daughter who is in Kindergarten went their last year and they did a great job preparing her. She is doing similar work that she did in pre-school. They are open on T and Th. I actually work on the younger side called Sonshine School which had children 6-m to 2. My email is ____@____.com if you have any more questions.

Fingerprints Private Preschool in Frisco or Sunny Days are both preschools where they can stay all day. Applecreek is great but they are strictly academic so they only meet half days. The kids go home at lunch time or come after lunch. I know the one in Frisco is pretty much full for morning times for 2008-09.

Take a look at Apple Creek. My daughter is in her third year there and is finishing up the Pre K program. My son just started this year and is in the 2's class. The days are short (2 1/2 hrs) but I am extremely confident that she is very well prepared for Kindergarten. I have heard from parents that have entered FISD from Apple Creek that often the teachers can tell right away that the kids came from Apple Creek.

Good luck!
