Prenatal Classes

Does anyone know of a place I can take a prenatal water aerobics class? I live in the Denver/Westminster area. I want to stay fit during pregnancy and I've always wanted to do water aerobics.

What can I do next?

I know that Meyers pool at 80th and Wadsworth has always had water aerobics and so does the Apex Center on 72nd Avenue between Ward Rd. and Indiana St.

Wheat Ridge rec center has them. You might want to check Thornton or other rec centers in your area.

I took water aerobics at my local YMCA. They are aimed at people with injuries, limited movement or pregnancy. The instructor would tell me specifically what movements to limit. It was fantastic!

You might check Green Mountain Rec Center. I haven't been there, but it sounds like they have a lot. The rec center near us recommended it since their pool is closed.

Hi M.

I took water aerobics from 7 mos. pregnant up until 2 days before I delivered at the Brighton Rec Center. It was not "prenatal" but definitely really good.

The Mapleton Center in Boulder offers a pre/post natal swim class. I live in Arvada, but it was worth the drive to Boulder because the class is held in the warm water therapy pool. Then you never have the shock of getting into a cold pool. The classes are held on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6-7pm.

Yes, Broomfied has some great classes. They are held at the Paul Derda Recreation Center and there are several different one. They are held Tues. & Thurs. A.M 9 - 10, Mon. & Wed. 6-7 p.m. and Sun. 9:15-10:15 a.m.

Then after the baby comes we have the Baby and Me classes which are fun, too.

Check out the Mapleton center in Boulder on Mapleton near sanitas, its part of the Boulder Community Hospitals, I think....
I do know the water is nice and warm....
