PreK Teacher Gift from Class

Both our PreK teachers are leaving and are absolutely loved by the students and parents. I was debating whether to do an individual gift or maybe get all the parents together for a class gift...but what? They are fairly young and one is actually moving out of state. While I love the idea of the flower pot, I don't know that that would be best in this situation. Any thoughts on individual and/or class options? Something meaningful too...

What can I do next?

Here's something slightly messing but interactive with the kids. Here's the items you will need:
Poster Board
Construction Paper
Stick Glue
Finger paint
1 picture of each student
Get poster board (depending on the size of the class) Each child will do a hand print on construction paper. They can do it at home (include the parents). When they return the hand print include a small picture.
Cut the hand prints out and apply the students picture in the center. Get the teacher's picture (also mounted on construction paper (maybe her favorite color) and apply in the center of the poster. Place the hand prints w/ picture around picture. You can frame it at Walmart very inexpensively. A great keepsake. Create the a flower or your own design. Don't forget to list the class names on the back and date it for years of reflection.
Good Luck.

A T-shirt with the kids hand prints?
A glass jar of candies/sweets with the kids names on it?
$20 gift cards to Starbucks?

Keep it simple. Keep it low key.
Many parents don't want to contribute more than $5 to a class gift and with 10 -20 kids you end up with $50 - 100 and a gift of that amount can make a teacher embarassed.

A gift card to amazon or something else universally useful. Have all the moms chip in. Then a sentimental card would be cute - how about a big card, with a nice class picture in it, and maybe little handprints in paint from all the kids or something else like that?

My daughter's kindergarten class all went in togther for a very nice and somewhat large wooden chest for their teacher. The kids in the class put hand prints all over it with paint and the kids' names were added later. It looked really cute.

I wouldn't do a flower pot, anything too cute or crafty. I'm speaking as a PreK teacher myself. I would make a photo album or scrap book (maybe a family photo on each page with a personal note from the family below it?), and I would pitch in on a gift card. My very favorite gifts are personal notes from families to say thank you.

Keep in mind that PreK teachers don't make a ton, and that they spend a lot of their own money on the classroom. A gift card is always appreciated.

I'm heading the all together gift. I'll be getting the fake suitcase from Michaels craft and filling it up with vacation items (sunglasses, towel, gift cards, sunblock...). The tag will say "You deserve a vacation!"

I also had each child draw a picture of themselves. I'm scanning it, printing it out and binding it to make a notepad.
