Does anyone have any suggestions about what to do? ANy good Obgyns or hospitals that have good cash plans? I would really appreciate any advice anybody might have who has gone through a pregnancy here in NC without health insurance. Thank you so much!!

I am in a similar situation. I went to a clinic and spoke with the social worker person there and applied for MPW, which is medicaid for pregnant women. I applied on a Thursday and got my card the next Tuesday. When you call they will tell you what you need and set an appointment to come in. If possible don't got through the department of social services directly. They told me that it would take 45 days for approval. If you are in Charlotte, I can give you the number I called to get the ball rolling. Let me know if I can be of further assistance and God bless!

T.,
I would call your local Department of Social Services. You may be eligible for medicaid or other types of insurances. I came from NY and they had Chilrdrens Health Plus but I don't know if they have that here in NC.
Good luck!!

All low-income pregnant uninsured woman usually qualify for Medicaid. I don't know which county you are in but go to http://www.ncdhhs.gov/ to find your local resources. Good luck.

If you are pregnant with no insurance, you qualify for medicade. You should go to the local social services office and sign up. Your daughter will probably qualify also. Plus you will qualify for WIC, which will come in handy also. Good Luck!

Go apply for medicaid. The state has help for situations like yours. Nothing wrong with that if you need it. We have paid alot of taxes that goes to medicaid so go use some of your money you gave. They give very good support.
I had insurance but was out of work alot so i got on medicaid to help with the part that my insurance didnt get. It also helps with food, take all you can. People take advantage of the system when they dont need it so why would you feel bad. Everybody these days has food stamps & welfare.
