Pregnant but No Symptoms..? - Spring Hill,TN

Hello Moms. I am probably just being paranoid, but I wanted some opinions on this matter. I am 5w2d pregnant. I am definitely feeling the exhaustion and have definite breast tenderness, but otherwise I am having no symptoms. This is my second pregnancy. With my daughter, I was puking my guts out twice a day at this point. I have had a decrease in appetite, but I am not nauseous at all. I have had 3 friends in the last 4 months miscarry, so I am probably just overly paranoid because of that, but I just can't be sure. We have also tried really hard to conceive this baby, and I want it to work soooo badly. I know they say it can take up to 8 weeks before you feel sick, but most places I have read say week 4 or 5. Should I just try to relax a few more days and wait it out or do you think I should call my doctor?

What can I do next?

My first 2 pregnancies were symptomless (except for the missed period and tests). It stayed that way all the way through and I was glad when I heard the heartbeat so it was confirmed that I was not imagining it!. My 3rd pregnacy was the complete opposite and I had really bad nausea and vomiting from week 6. Week 6-8 is most common for nausea and vomiting to start but some people do get it before then.

I think it is normal and all is fine.

I think you're just fine. I've known many people, who didn't have any sickness. They all carried happy healthy babies! I didn't get sickness until 7 weeks, then it never stopped! Enjoy the nausea-free time, while you have it :)

Not everyone feels sick during pregnancy and no two pregnancies are exactly alike. You may just be having one of those non-sick pregnancies. Enjoy it and relax. I wasn't sick during either of my pregnancies. Isn't it great?!

I never felt sick during my second pregnancy. This is going to sound terrible, but I would keep forgetting that I was pregnant with my second for the first couple of weeks. I felt great- not even tired! I thougt maybe the baby would be a boy because I was SOOO sick with my first and she was a girl. Nope! Another girl! She's a healthy and happy two year old now. Relax and enjoy your pregnancy, the second one goes much faster than the first!

No worries!!! I wasn't sick a day with my first and only a bit nauseus with my second, only puked once total with both pregnancies and that was because I got too hot in the shower. Both mine are healthy and strong as can be, so just enjoy it. I did get really chunky the first time around though!!!;)

I'm currently 31 weeks with my third - with my first I started getting sick around week 7, with my second I never threw-up at all, and now with my third I got sick some from weeks 8-12.
With all three up until the morning sickness started, I only experienced exhaustion, breast tenderness and a very heightened sense of smell.
Try to relax and congratulations on your pregnancy!

I never got sick with any of my pregnancies. I have 2 kids and I lost 3 kids, and the symptoms were all the same (tired, hungry, sore breasts). Sometimes I got heartburn later in my succesful pregnancies, but morning sickness isn't for every pregnancy.

Every pregnancy is different, just because you had morning sickness with your first doesn't mean you will with your second. I'm pregnant with my first baby (30 weeks now) and he is healthy and active as ever. I didn't have ANY morning sickness at all in my first trimester . . . try not to stress about it because that's not good for either of you . . . just try to be thankful that for now, you feel good! :)

Congratulations on your pregnancy! Just remember that many women don't even know they're pregnant at 5 weeks. The reason: the symptoms that make it obvious that things aren't normal haven't really kicked in yet. Maybe they've felt tired (but who isn't tired most of the time, especially if they have other children!). And not all women feel tenderness or morning sickness to the same degree, if at all.

I've had four children and two miscarriages, and I can tell you, every single pregnancy was different. I've only had tender breasts with my first child and with my last pregnancy (which I ended up miscarrying). I've been exhausted with all of them, but it doesn't always show up immediately. Sometimes it happens before I know I'm pregnant, other times it waits until week 8, and then I can't seem to keep my eyes open, no matter how much sleep I've had. With most of my pregnancies, the morning sickness seems to start as soon as I take the home test, but with the last pregnancy, I took the test because I almost puked while eating lunch and knew for a fact I didn't have an illness. I've heard that the stronger the symptoms, the better the chances of not miscarrying, but this past pregnancy had the most noticeable early symptoms of any I've had since my first, and I miscarried a week after taking the test.

I understand completely how hard it is not to panic, especially when you or people you know have experienced a miscarriage or other problems, but the best thing you can do is relax and take good care of yourself (especially when/if the symptoms DO hit).

This happened to me...with my first I was deathly ill by 5 weeks. Around 8 weeks with my second baby, I told my husband "I'm so paranoid...I wish I could just feel SOMETHING." Up to that point I had NO symptoms (not even breast tenderness). Well, two weeks later I was hit with the mother of all morning sickness, and was ten times as sick compared to my first pregnancy. I'm now holding my lovely 7 week old baby boy...so, try to relax and enjoy it!

If it would make you feel more peaceful then I think you should call your doctor. But remember every pregnancy is different. There are women who are not nauseous at all. I have had 4 and my first definitely made me the sickest. Just pray, focus on the positive and don't assume the worst. And after doing that you still have the urge to go to the doctor then go.

Hello! No, just consider yourself lucky:) My 1st pregnancy was wonderful, never got nausea or threw up! I didn't really have any food cravings either. The only "problem" I got was heartburn & don't remember when that started!?
My 2nd pregnancy I was sooo sick for the first few months, I swore...this is it, this is the last one! I had the heartburn as well, but again, not sure "when" that happened.
As for being tired...again, with my first pregnancy...don't remember ever being exhausted! Of course I used to get more exercise before having her. My 2nd, I never got that tired that I had to lay down during the day etc...
You are probably just being a little paranoid due to your friends pregnancies.
There are lots of women that don't get sick & some that stay sooo sick, through the whole pregnancy also:( It's weird how even w/yourself how one pregnancy could be so different from another! You figure your body is always going to respond the same, but it doesn't!! Just the one of the "surprises" and joys that comes w/being pregnant:)
Wish you well, enjoy not being sick (never know IF that could change eventually either) & take care:)

I am going thru the exact same thing as you. I just found out I was pregnant and am about 5 weeks, but the only thing I am noticing that is 'off' is that my breasts are very tender. I threw up every day with my first. I have read that it takes about 6 weeks for the 'sickness' to come, but it's probably different with everyone.

I'm not worried, and I don't think you have any reason to be either! I've heard from a lot of second-time moms, that it can be completely different than the first.

Gosh, I thought I was reading my own post! At 5 weeks pregnant I was freaking out because I had no symptoms. With my other 3 kids, I did at that point. Note that if you get a lot of rest, you probably won't throw up much or at all. The key is NOT getting up early or before you want to. Worked for me.
Then at 7 weeks it hit, and I had nausea and fatigue like crazy. No throwing up though, and plenty of rest. It only lasted a few weeks. Everything is fine and baby is due in 2011.

I was sick at 6 weeks with my first (a boy), 8 weeks with my current pregnancy (a girl). And the second time around wasn't nearly as bad..I was also sick at night instead of the morning. Very different. I was worried too, it took us a year this time and I had 2 miscarriages in between. I understand your worry. You just have to wait a bit longer! Just think, if you do get morning sickness you will be wishing for this time again. Good luck!
