Pregnant and Relocating

Hello,

I am 29 weeks pregnant and I am relocating to Houston from Toledo, OH. I have been contacting doctors in the area but no one will take me as a new patient because I am "too far along" in my pregnancy. Can someone please recommend a doctor who will see a new patient in their third-trimester?

Thanks

What can I do next?

Have you talked to your Dr. now??? With my fourth child I was going to a midwife/birthing center and to make a long story short she was breech and would not turn. It was too high risk for them so they located me a Dr. that would take me at two weeks before my due date. I would think your present Dr. could make some phone calls for you.

Do you know what part of Houston you are moving to? You will need a doctor who is affiliated with a hospital near your home.

Call this office and explain your situation to them - shame on other doctors that will not take you as a patient based on a relocation - what are you suppose to do - squat in a field and hope for the best? Gheez!

Good luck on locating a doctor.

Good Luck.....You try Sam Balat in the Medical Center and his phone numer is ###-###-#### , I hope he takes you he is an excellent doctor and very well known on the Houston Area and have lot of patients coming to him from overseas.

I had this same problem when we moved from Tulsa, OK. I wasn't quite as far as you. Only we didn't know which part of Houston we would be moving to at the time because of a number of reasons. So while I stayed with various relatives I chose a doctor in the medical district that would deliver at Texas Women's. Her name was Sandra Hurtado and she is with Obstetrical and Gynecological Associates, PA (www.obgynassociates.com; ###-###-####.) There are many doctors in this office and they have different locations around town as well. Good luck.
