So What Happened?

well after being almost 3 weeks late. Last night I had really bad cramping (thought I would even have to call Dr this morning if it didn't quit). Woke up this morning to the vistor. Still called Dr they told me to keep an eye on it. So at least I'm not worring about an ectopic preg anymore.

It's never "too long" to wait unless you are doing something that could affect the baby/pregnancy. If you aren't doing any drugs or drinking alcohol or smoking, you can wait as long as you feel comfortable. Personally, I'd want to know ASAP!!
Good Luck:)

Hi, M.,

My name is G. I have never gotten pregnant after a tubal but I have friends that have so it is possible. If I were you I wouldn't trust the hpt. I took one just for laughs when I was 8mths pregnant with my son and it came up negitive. Check things out with your doctor and lots of luck. A little about me. I am a mother of 3 children 19,16, 5 so I know what starting over is all about I am in a great relationship but my 1st husband and I have been split for about 7years. I currently work at home with a mom based home company that has a great team of mom's to help. Life is pretty good right now. Have a great day and good luck. G.

Unless you're charting your temperatures, you don't know whether you even ovulated or not. Lots of times you can ovulate late because of stress or a sudden change in diet or exercise (and if you're breastfeeding that most certainly will mess with your cycles). So, I wouldn't worry about it for now. Take another HPT in a week if your period still hasn't shown up and you're worried, but it's likely you just had an extended cycle for whatever reason.

M.,
I too have had a tubal after my 3rd child was born, nearly 3 years ago. I also was always regular. However, I've noticed this past year that I have gone late a few times and early a time or two. I think it was just stress that I was under. However, unlike you it sounds, I would love to be pregnant. My husband and I wish we never had the tubal. We said "no" at every DR. appt for 9 months and then just before the scheduled C/S they asked again. Well no Duh! I'm 9 months preg. miserable got an IV in my arm and about to get cut open for the 2nd time. Yeah, I think I'm done. I think they shouldn't have asked again. WRONG< WRONG, WRONG! Good Luck. If you are still late in a week I would go see a DR. Keep me informed.

I had a tubal after my last pregnancy, and was told it was possible to still get pregnant. It's a rare "side effect" but could be dangerous, so I was told if you ever suspect a pregnancy, call immediately (you may not want to wait until Friday). I believe the risk is it could be ectopic.

Good luck.

Most pregnancies conceived after a tubal are ectopic. If left undetected it could grow so large that it ruptures the tube it is in, which could be a life threatening situation. I would not wait more than one more week before seeking a blood test from your doctor or midwife. And certainly if you start experiencing any abdominal pain seek immediate attention. I wish you the best.

Have your cycles been completely regular since your baby was born and you had the tubal? Is being late your only symptom? If the test still shows "-" my guess is that your body will not do exactly as you are used to it doing becasue of the new baby and the procedure, and that is what is causing your lateness. Heading to the Doc to make sure everything is ok is a good idea though, if it will give you peace of mind.
