Pregnant? - Charlottesville,VA
So I took a pregnancy test and it had a very faint positive line, but it technically had expired the in Sept., so I took another one that was in date, it also had a faint positive line, is there any way I'm not pregnant?
So What Happened?™
I went to Dollar Tree (thanks for everyone with that suggestion) and bought a couple more test for a dollar each. It came back fainter than the control line, but more than the last 2 test, and my period is about 5 days late now too. I'm taking all three positive (that came up during the correct time) as real and we have a prenatal visit scheduled for the 13th. I knew I wanted to get pregnant so I started taking prenatal vitamins a little while ago and talked with my doctor about my current medications, so we're all set there. Thank you all!! My husband I think just didn't want to get his hopes up but he started to make me think I was crazy, this made me feel much better as I want this week for the officially doctor's nod.

When I found I was pregnant the first time I took a test and it said positive. I took 3 more and they were all the same so I was really pregnant. It sounds like to me you are pregnant. See the DR and confirm it.
Good luck and I hope this is what you want.

There are tests you can get that will say "pregnant" or "not pregnant". I used one of these when I was pregnant because I had trouble with the lines on the ovulation tests. Good luck.

I had a very faint line with my third two summers ago. I thought there was no way I was pregnant if it was so faint, but he is 18 months old now :). If there is a very faint line, I would assume you are just very early on in the pregnancy! Congratulations!

To my knowledge there is no way you cannot be pregnant. The same thing hapened to me when i took my first one, of course, it was from the dollar store so i questioned it. I took another and the same thing happened. I called my girlfriend, who works at my doctors office, and she said it was diluted because of the fluids I had been drinking that day. She told me to take one when I first got up in the morning with my first bathroom trip. It lit up like a firecracker. Needless to say, my husband and i were so excited beacuse we had been through a previous miscarriage. They say those tests will never produce a false positive, only a flase negative.
Hope this helps,

Hi F.! The same thing happened to me and then more recently to my sister and we were both very much pregnant! Your doctor should tell you to have the blood work done, and then you'll know for sure!
Best of luck!

Not likely, false negatives are far more common than false positives. The boxes usually say that even a very faint line means that you are preggers. I think you can assume that you ARE pregnant, unless you've been taking any kind of drug that would make you show a false positive. If you're taking anything, you can refer back to the information sheet the pharmacist gave you to see if this is one of the side effects. If not, start taking pre-natals and congratulations!

I had the same results with my second baby. From what I understand, there are no false-positives and if there is a line (even if it is very faint) you are pregnant. I ended up taking 4 different tests because the line was barely visible...I thought maybe I was seeing things. Good luck!!!

in my experience you only get false negatives, not false positives.
Congrats!
