Pregnant?? - Salt Lake City,UT
Some of you might remember my "why am I so tired" request. Well I was not pregnant then.
Now, I've been feeling really odd. Before I get into more details I should explain my situation. I got my IUD taken out about 6 months ago. I just had a really bad temper with it. So since then we've been using the POM*(Let me just say we really don't mind having another baby right now). So for the past week I've been feeling odd..I've been craving anything with coconut in it, pineapples, and anything creamy. I go from wanting something sweet to wanting something salty right after. My tummy feels a little bloated. Yesterday, we went to my sister's house for lunch and after eating a few bites I felt like vomiting.
So my question is this, I had my period on the 15th of this month so I haven't missed a period(obviously) so am I too early to get an accurate answer from a pregnancy test? If so how long should I wait until I could take one? Not that I don't want to be pregnant but have any of you ever had these symptoms and not been pregnant? Could it all be in my head since I've been thinking about not having a method of birth control? I'm really exited and wish that I could take a pregnancy test now! but I want to be sure that I get an accurate result.
Thanks!~

Dollar Tree has cheap pregnancy tests and they work just fine, although they could still come up negative if it has not been long enough since you ovulated. Could the period you got actually be implantation bleeding? Are you normally very regular? If not, I'd say - get the dollar tree test and go POAS (pee on a stick!).

After eating sweets, it is the bodys natural desire for salty foods to get the blood sugar back into sync. Most people probably feel bloated over the holidays with all the foods and baked goods we are eating. Of course you could be pregnant but I would doubt the way you are feeling is from that.

It's probably too early to find out with a preg test. With both of my pregnancies, I didnt' get a positive result until about 5-6 weeks after my last period. I tried several times with the tests that say you can find out earlier than your first missed period...but always got a negative result until a week or more after I missed my period. For what it is worth, I didn't feel any other pregnancy symptoms until after that time either....although the second time, when we were "trying" and I knew what the symptoms were, I thought I felt "pregnant" several times just before I got my period. So... in my experience, at least... you probably just have to wait and see. I know it is hard. Try to keep busy and not worry about it too much. The second time I would get excited when I thought I was having symptoms, and then bummed out when my period came. I did much better after I tried to stop thinking about it until after I knew for sure.
Good luck to you!

Well, I was in the same boat a few weeks ago. Felt weird, queesy all the time, tired, bloated. I took a pregnancy test and it was negative. But the symptoms continued, and we just found out that I am pregnant. The funny thing is that the symptoms started almost right about the time I got pregnant. So obviously the changing hormones were triggering my feelings. I did get a positive test about one week before I'm due for my next period, so it is possible. It helps if you do your first morning urine, as the levels are stronger due to them building up all night.
Let us know what you find out!

Every since I gave birth to our 4th child I get total pregnancy symptoms every time I ovulate. For me it is pretty consistently happening a little over two weeks after my period ends. It last for about 4 or 5 days then stops, 3 days or so later I get my period. That being said you should take a pregnancy test. I took one a week and a half before I missed a period with my last baby and it was positive. From what I understand, you can get a false negative but not a false positive. So worse case scenario you take it, it is negative and if you still have symptoms a week or two later and miss a period take it again.
Good luck!

If your period started on the 15th, you probably haven't even ovulated yet. Most women ovulate roughly 12-14 days before the beginning of their next cycle, so for the sake of averages most often ovulation would happen around day 14 for a 28 day cycle. You're only on day 12. With the hormone fluctuations that occur with ovulation, some people get weird symptoms that could mimic some of the odd things often associated with pregnancy. Odds are that this is what is happening with you, unless the "period" you had two weeks ago wasn't actually a period. Was is a normal amount/length for you? Are you tracking your cycles or ovulation at all so that you have an idea as to when you ovulate?
The earliest you are likely to get an accurate pregnancy test won't be until at least 10 days past ovulation (and more realistically 12 dpo), so if you are timing things for a baby this month, then get busy now, and test in about 2 wks.

It kind of sounds like you want to be pregnant. I do know for a fact that you cannot rely on the pull out method for birth control. It just doesn't work. If you want to go hormone free, it is best to use the rythem method, where you take your temperature every morning before rising. and using a condom is very effective as well. I know many women who knew they were pregnant days after becoming pregnant. If you want to learn more about natural birth control there are ways of learning on line.

maybe you're getting these symptoms when you're ovulating. and again just before your period. Many people have pregnancy symptoms when they ovulate.
Start taking your prenatal vitamins daily.
