You didn't mention what time of day you are taking the test. To get the most accurate reading you want to take the test first thing in the morning when you first use the bathroom. You also didn't mention whether or not you're having any other symptoms. It is very possible that you could have skipped a period due to stress, too. I once went three months without a period due to stress, I wasn't pregnant. Relax a bit, try a test first thing in the morning and get to a doctor or free clinic for a test evaluated by a doctor or nurse practitioner. With a faint line you could very well be pregnant. The test is reading something there, you just need to figure out what. Also, name brand tests usually work a bit better than the generic ones because the name brands get purchased more often and are normally "fresher" than the generics.

You still could be pregnant. How late are you for your Sept monthly? If it's at the end of the month, wait another week and test again; the tests are pretty much the same so it doesn't matter if it's not a name brand; I used dollar store tests with both of mine. Also, the boxes recommend testing in the morning because the hormone that they're set up to detect is more abundant in the morning. Or, if you don't want to wait, go to your doctor and have them run a blood test; it's more accurate than urine. Good luck.

If it shows up, even faintly, you are pregnant. For my first pregnancy, I had to take 6 or 7 tests before I got one tiny little faint line. I had to ask my husband if he could see it because I didn't believe it. I was already 2 weeks late at this point. I have also had many friends who have had the same issue with these tests. If you still don't believe it, it would probably be cheaper to go to the dr and have them do a test instead of wasting more money on store bought ones. Also, by the time I was pregnant with my second, I was only 1 day late and the stick turned bright blue before I even had a chance to put it down!

The home preg.tests are infallible. Why not just put your mind to rest and see a doctor?

Call your doctor!

One o two things can be happening. First of you are pregnant, but your hormone levels are not high enough to register. second is that yes you were pregnant but your body has rejected the pregnancy and just isn't all the way there yet.

My son was that way, and then the one I lost 3 years ago.

Try another brand, or call your doctor. Be on the safe side.

I would say that you are pregnant. I would say wait several days maybe till sunday and take another test. When I was pregnant, the line was really faint, as well. I waited a week and took it again and then it was darker. I have noticed that sometimes it will be faint looking, and you have to look at it with different angles, to see if there is the faint line at all. I know when i have seen the faint line, I will put the test on the side, and look at it several hours later when it's fully dry, and the line at that time will appear darker.

If you want to, you can always go to the doctor and take the test there, and they will let you know if you are or aren't.

How many days late are you, or, are you not yet late? If you are past the date that you are supposed to have your period and the test reads negative, but you think otherwise, you could call your dr and ask for a simple blood test that would say for sure if you are pregnant. I have always heard that there could be a false negative, in certain situations.

Thats funny.... lol cause i have taken two walgreens... ones but i still have the same feeling. that i am.. im like 1.5 week late.

are you using your first morning urine? they say thats the best time to take it. id maybe try one more.. or go to your doc and get a blood test.. thats the fullproof way.

If you are seeing a faint line, you are probably pregnant. Go get a blood test. Also, are you taking it with your first potty of the morning? i would get one of the more sensitive name brand tests, there are some that give you the results 5 days before your missed period. Take one of those if you want to save the trip to the doctor. They are a little more pricey but if you don't have insurance, they are less thant he doctor.

Go get a different brand of test. They have digital ones now that will actually physically say "pregnant" or "not pregnant" on them. Or, wait a few days and check again. If it was faint, it should get more distinct as the hormones build in your body. :)

You can get pg test at the dollar store. I bought a bunch for my last pg and I got my positive with them. They are simple to read and cheap so you can take a ton and not worry about the cost!

I took two pregnancy tests back in March and then had my yearly doctor's appointment where they had me do a test "just for fun" and it came up positive. So don't always rely completely on the over the counter tests.

I had a similar experience - so I took one of the digital ones that literally say "pregnant" or "not pregnant". I still definately recommend going to the doctors though!

buy a totally different brand of pregnancy test. or better yet go to the dr for the blood test.

C.; yeah anything is possible, you could be or you could not be, those test are not always accuate and check their shelf life, sometimes your body just goes through changes and every now and then, your period can skip a month and reset itself, it has happened to me a couple times, sometimes stress can trigger it, to change, it can add a period a month or skip it, i also had a sister in law who took pregnancy tests and it said yes, you are , no your not, yes, no, yes no, it took her almost three months to get an accurate record, and eventually it was positive, she was about 3 months along, so our bodies can do strange things to us, your best bet is to get dr verified, and if periods are different you should probably check things out anyway, just enjoy life and have a good day, hope things work out to the way you want it to, D. s

I agree with what most are saying. You could be pregnant and just too early or you could not be. The other thing is it's not common but some people can't get a positive pee test for some reason and have to have a blood test to confirm. So i'd request a blood test to make sure.

not exactly sure how the test work but i had the same thing happen to me a little over nine months ago i now have a beautiful 21 day old baby girl. the test kept coming up negative even the digital test i went to the dr. for something they wanted ex-rays and i told them i may be pregnant took a test at the dr. and sure enough i was pregnant. i would go to the dr. or planned parenthood to have a profesional pregancy test done. good luck

go to cvs, walgreen, or rite aid. by EPT do not get the digital one there more expensive any way get a pack of three the normal ones with out digital it should cost 16 something unless on sale if you go to cvs. Go home and take it. If it come out faint take another in teo day it should come out deeper within 24 to 48 hrs if you are pregnant. If it does call your dr. If its faint the pregnancy could go either way so relax and pray. Plud how long off are you? when was the beginingof the day you was suppose to start?

It could be a lot of things... the more of the pregnancy hormone..the darker the line. It could still be early, you could just not be pregnant, or you could have had a chemical pregnancy (early early miscarriage). I would go tot he DR. and get a blood test to be sure.

You should be far enough along for any test by now. Also, a faint line *should* be a positive. To be sure however I wouldn't wait or speculate and make a Dr. appt. :) GOOD LUCK! (be sure to let us know in your second post!!)
