So I know this is to soon to be worried but what ever I am going to ask.

I had two pregnancy tests through the doctor plus an ultrasound to determine that I have ovarian cysts. Well today I was supposed to start my period. It hasn't come. I know I have a few days before I am considered LATE however I am usually pretty punctual with this. It either starts in the morning or around noon.

Is it even possible. I know sexually it really shouldn't We have been using condoms, (none have leaked or torn). That and its Not frequent when it does(in the bedroom talk), as we are trying to wiggle our relationship to somewhat normal until we find out it is for sure 100% over. That is if it is over. We are trying hard to make our relationship work, as we know things are never perfect. Any advice? I am kinda worried only because it hasn't come yet, but still not totally worried because I still have time for my period to start.

Edit- I am hoping it starts. I dont want this right now.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Just M. - really, I am concerned ok. I have a rough life right now and I am asking a question hoping I get a lot of "its your cysts" answeres. I am asking politely that your post have a little sympathy as this is neither planned, wanted, or even thought of.

Thank you Living life for the response. I guess I should have worded it more toward could my cysts cause this to hold off!

You are not sure your relationship is over or not, but you're still having sex? Am I reading this right? Don't have sex with him if you're on the outs, and you won't have to worry about an unwanted/unplanned pregnancy with a man you shouldn't be with.

I am not sure what you tell you. You seem very confused. I hope to god you're not pregnant.

I'm not sure I understand all of this although I did read your previous post on this issue. By "find out is is for sure 100% over" do you mean your relationship? Then I think you should not put pregnancy into the mix at all. Medically, if you have ovarian cysts, that can affect your periods and even the hormone levels that affect the pregnancy tests. I'm not sure if you are hoping your are pregnant, or anxious to get your period. I hope that, if you are not pregnant, that you put that on hold and take additional precautions (condoms alone are not too effective - and you say they haven't leaked or torn, but what would you do if one DID leak or tear?). It sounds like there are a lot of emotions and stresses going on, which can affect your periods, your hormones and your decisions.

I don't know exactly what you mean by "I still have time for it to start" - before what? I hope that you will discuss your concerns about your periods with your doctor, and perhaps get some couples counseling regarding your relationship. You sound conflicted about getting pregnant or not getting pregnant, and I think you should address that with a professional.

Listen, if you have confirmed that you ovarian cysts then I wouldn't really freak out over this pregnancy scare. It's likely that this is related directly to your cysts. They can cause an influx of hormones and your body can get wacky. It's certainly not ideal, especially if you're actively trying NOT to get pregnant because you'd like to know your cycle. I would not stress over this though, I doubt you are pregnant, especially if the doctor already took a test and it said no. If you continue to have problems in the future you can talk to your doctor about having it removed. Good luck!

Hi,

I am sorry you are going through this right now. I think you have nothing to worry about in regards to pregnancy. It really sounds like it is the ovarian cysts. They can create symptoms, delay your period or even stop it completely. Hang in there~ M

I suffered mercilessly from ovarian cysts. Because of these I always had a late period or unpredictable period. I can't tell you how many pregnancy tests I bought. Try not to worry too much.

It doesn't really sound like you are pregnant, since you use protection and are not having sex too often. It is quite possible that the cysts have altered your cycle. Stress can also cause you to be late.

While it is always possible that you can get pregnant from having sex, it sounds pretty unlikely that you are.

With your life going the way it is right now AND the cysts, I think it's very much expected for your cycle to be wonky right now. If you go another couple of days without your period, I would still ask the doctor for a blood test regardless of what tests you've already had just for peace of mind and "you never know."

And at the risk of getting chewed out, if your relationship is so much in the air right now to where you're almost certain the marriage is over and you know that you don't want pregnancy, please consider abstaining.
