Go to Weight Watchers online and use their guidelines for pregnant diet. Eat a lot of fresh raw veg. and salads and low fat foods. Watch carbs and walk every evening about a mile. Good Luck!

Dr. Brewer's Pregnancy Diet is an excellent diet to follow while pregnant. You can find the information at www.blueribbonbaby.org Sometimes the site times out so if you have trouble checking it out you can google Dr. Brewer and you may find the diet somewhere other than his website.
Best of luck to you and congrats on your pregnancy.

I had gestational diabetes with both of my pregnancies and so had to follow a diabetic diet. I only gained about 25s pound each time. I was sent to a nutritionist for my diet, but if you look online, I am sure you can find a similar diet. Mainly it involved avoiding sugar and watching my carbs (which turn to sugar.) I was to eat a protein with with every meal and snack. I had to eat three solid meals a day and three light snacks. Weight Watchers is similar. Good Luck!

Hi there! I had gestational diabetes and just watched my intake of carbs. I'm still having blood sugar issues a 1 1/2 later, but I only gained 18 pounds during my pregnancy & I have gone down to 15 pounds smaller than I was when I got pregnant. Now I try to not eat more than 60 grams of carbs per meal & I eat no more than 25 carbs for a snack. I do eat whenever I'm hungry though. I'll have breakfast, lunch, then usually a snack in the afternoon, then dinner & sometimes an evening snack. My husband & I also try to take a walk in the evenings. Not very far, but even a short walk helps get your blood flowing! I think eating the way a diabetic has to is a great way to lose weight & eat better. Good luck!

Well I didn't follow a diet but I think i did pretty well while pregnant. With both pregnancies I started out at about 115 and gained 28 lbs with my first and 25 lbs with my second. I just tried to eat the same as I did before I was pregnant. I mean really they say to only add about 300 extra calories which is like eating 2 cookies or something. So I just tried to still be careful. While I had morning sickness I would just eat small meals through out the day. Like if I had some crackers in between breakfast and lunch to settle my tummy then when I had lunch I would have just a sandwich with water instead of a sandwich, chips and a pop. So then it all balances out. As long as you're not stuffing your face all day LOL you should be fine.

These are excellent suggestions! Take your prenatal vitamin and be sure to eat plenty of lean meat, fruits, and veggies like we should when we are not pregnant :) For exercise, I purchased "10 Minute Solutions". They have various kinds, but I used the Pilates. Gave me just enough exercise, and made my core super strong. Sounds weird, but it helped my recovery AFTER the baby TREMENDOUSLY! Good luck!

The most important thing is to follow your body's lead! If your body is telling you to eat, then eat! But make sure it's things that are good for you and baby. Try googling pregnancy food ideas. It's basically common sense, healthy eating-lower fat, high fiber, whole grains, lean proteins, etc
I ate things like:
Lean meats
veggies
whole grain breads and lean lunch meats (like turkey or chicken that I zapped in the microwave to prevent possible lysteria contamination)
avocado
apples with peanut butter and skim milk
pears with wheat germ sprinkled on top
boiled eggs (like Egglands that have extra good stuff)
sweet potato
whole wheat pasta
about 10-15 smoked almonds (for snack or tossed on a salad)
Oatmeal with wheat germ added in along with raisins and apples
skim milk
plenty of water
Early in my pregnancy with my son I had to eat 6-7 times per day or I felt nauseous. It was the normal 3 meals and the rest was healthy snacking.

When I was pregnant with both my kids I ate a lot of fruits, vegetables, white meat, whole wheat everything such as breads, pasta, etc! I gave up on sodas, coffee, tea and high sugar juices...I pretty much drank water water and water. As you may know already, it's very important that you eat nutritious meals every day because this is what you will be feeding you baby as well. If you are not getting the proper nutrition you might want to consider taking supplements that are both healthy and natural for you and your baby. I have some information for you that might be very helpful. Check out www.andreadallasjuiceplus.com and let me know what you think about it. This is also a product that has been recommended by doctors.
Oh yeah..as far exercising I took prenatal yoga which actually helped and made my delivery a whole lot easier for me and by baby.

I am preggers too for the 6th time and have never gained more then 20lbs and had good sized babies smallest 7lbs 6oz to 9lbs. I walk about 2miles once or twice a day and eat about 5 small meals every day. The key is eat well and do not over indulge just because you are pregnant you really only need about 300-500 extra calories a day to have a healthy self and baby. Good luck to you.
