Pregnancy Belt

My Ob has requested a pregnancy belt since I am carrying so low and have had a previous complicated pregnancy. I have gotten the belt and feel that it is helping alot. My question is; I'm afraid that I am wearing or stretching the belt too tight. There really arent any guidelines as far as fitting the belt. The entire thing is all velcro, so i can make it as tight or as loose as I like. I guess i'm just afraid that that I will restrict the room for my baby girl to grow! Does anybody have any experience with these?

What can I do next?

No worries, J., that elastic belt isn't going to stop your little one from getting the room she needs! Enjoy the support! Your back and belly will benefit greatly from it!
Get ready for life to be very busy! I am a mom of two boys who are 2 yrs and 3 days apart.
Not that you are asking, but some of the best advice I received is to refer to your new member of the family as 'our' baby. Ex: Mommy needs to feed/ change ect. 'our' baby. It will help to avoid some of the jealousy that your little guy will have over his now 'shared' Mommy. Make him a part of everything as much as possible. It really helps!
Smiles and blessings! :-)

I worked in a store that sold them and from what I understood, there is no "too tight" as long as it's comfortable.
Also, if you're having back pain, you can put a tennis ball or ice/hot pack in back and have the belt hold it there :)

It's impossible to restrict the room for your baby to grow. My friend had a very serious heart condition when she was a young girl, and has a big scar from her belly up to her chest. Because of the scar tissue on the inside of her skin, it would only stretch so much. At 9 months pregnant, she looked 5 or 6 months. Her baby found room in there and was born at 22 inches long!!! Now, as for the mommy, she was as uncomfortable as you can get during her pregnancy. The baby was pushing up against her stomach I believe, because she was having acid reflux 24/7. She vomited every single day from the 2nd month on, multiple times a day. A good day for her was only puking a couple of times. So, there is no way you can restrict your baby from growing

I too had to wear one and it brought so much relief! I don't think the tightness will be a problem. I only wore mine at work, and if was too tight I would just re-adjust so I felt optimal comfort and support. I think you will like it.

J.,
I used the pregnancy belt with my last two kids. I never had any problems with wearing or stretching the belt too tight. You have to do what is comfortable for you. My doctor on both separate pregnancies never indicated that my belt was hindering the growth of either of my kids. Honey, anything that assists you with aches and pains of pregnancy, I say go for it. But if you need more assurance for your minds sake ask your doctor at your next appointment.

Congratulations early & God Bless

J., I wore a pregnancy belt for my 3 pregnancies. You will be ok! The baby will still grow and as you will find yourself readjusting the belt to fit the new sizes. The belt will definitely help you even more as you get bigger. It redistributes the weight so your back and your abdominal muscles will be grateful for it. On my third pregnancy I noticed that I needed it even more. After 2 other pregnancies, my muscles were not as strong and the belt was the only thing that helped me not to feel the pain resulting from the extra weight (I'm a very small frame so any extra weight is too much for me!). Keep using it! I highly recommend it!!!
