I would just like to know how long it took moms to get pregnant after quitting the pill?

Immediately. They sometimes will put women on the pill who are having trouble conceiving because the longer you are on it, the more likely you are to conceive quickly when you go off of it. Granted, I had been on it for 11 years. I also got pregnant the first time after not being on the pill though. Being on the pill should in no way prevent pregnancy when you go off of it.

My husband and I decided to start trying once we got married. I took my last pill two days before our wedding, our daughter was concieved on our honeymoon. ;)

I had read it's normal for it to take 3-6 months for your cycle to regulate, so we got pregnant much sooner then expected.

2 weeks! As soon as I stopped the pill I ovulated 2 weeks later and found out I was pregnant 2 weeks after that. It really does not take everyone a couple months for the pill to "get out of your system" like some people say.

Once off the pill, you can ovulate about 10 days later and find out if your pregnant about 24-36 days after your last period.

I stopped the pill in January 2006 and got pregnant in August 2006. My husband and I had QUITE an active sex life as well. Also consider that I was not charting my fertility, so I may have been missing the most fertile days for months-- we will never know if thats true or not.

It is recommended that a woman waits 3-6 months before trying to get pregnant after taking the pill. I would read about this for yourself so that you can make your own informed decision.

I used to be a birth control pill sales person - plus I'm a mom. You can ovulate 10-14 days after stopping the pill. I got pregnant at age 29 with my 1st child 14 days after. 2nd child took me 3 months at age 35.

Immediately. Another fertile myrtle here....got pregnant on the first try 4 times in a row starting at age 37. (I had 2 miscarriages, but it was due to a blood disorder on my part.)

Good luck!

when i had my first son i had been on the pill a long time. my doctor to me to be off the pill at least 2mth before i start to try. i quite the pill in april of 07 and my first son was concieved in june of of 07. however its different for everyone. dont pressure yourself to concieve and just have fun stay relaxed.

However, after i had my first son i went back on the pill and when my son was a yr old we concieved again while on the pill so be careful. however my youngest son is happy and healthy

You are supposed to be off for at least 30 days before trying to get pregnant to clean out your system. I did this and was pregnant the first night we tried, day 31. :O) Not everyone's body's are the same and don't get pregnant as easily but I would suggest at least 30 days off before trying.

Hi T.,

I went off the pill and the very next month I got pregnant with twins! My doctor said sometimes women will ovulate more than one egg right after coming off the pill because most hormone pills cause your ovaries to go into a resting state, and after there's no more huge dose of hormones circulating they go crazy! But not everyone experiences this.

I stopped taking the pill in early December so we could start trying to conceive and ended up getting pregnant at the end of January!
