Pregnancy After Hysterectomy

I know this is going to sound stupid, but bear with me please.

I delivered my daughter VBAC almost 2 years ago, resulting in a ruptured uterus and subsequent partial hysterectomy. Over the last week or two I have been experiencing the same symptoms I did each time I was pregnant with my children. Nausea (always at night), tiredness, breast swelling, increased sensitivity to smells and abdominal cramping.

I have done some research and have found that there is a rare chance of a tubal pregnancy . . . this seems so entirely out of the question right now. I am facing a partial mastectomy in two weeks and wonder if some of this isn't stress related??

Thoughts anyone?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

I greatly appreciate your responses and thoughts. I did see my doctor this morning. He did not do any type of exam (he didn't seem overly worried about a pregnancy, which didn't sit really well with me) but he did draw blood to do several tests on various hormone levels. I will get those results late this week or next week. Thanks again.

first have you done a pregnance test? as long as you have 1 tube their is a chance you can have a child. although if you think you may be it could be all in your head or stress. if you think you are prego you may develope the sysptoms due to wishfull thinking.... sorry I know I wasn't much help. do a test and go from there.

Yes a tubal pregnancy is still possible. Call the doctor right away and get in to see him. Have them do an ultrasound, intermal is the best. Don't delay, I almost died from a tubal pregnancy. Luckily I knew what to look for with the symptoms. Get in tomorrow, don't delay.

Good luck and I will pray for you.

yes, if you still have ovaries, an ectopic pregnancy is a slight possibility. If you are and it is growing in your fallopian tube, it will get more & more painful until it ruptures, if you don't have it removed. If it is in your abdominal cavity, depending on where the placenta attaches, it may be possible to carry to term then remove by C/S.
Hopefully it is just PMS, exacerbated by stress.

I would talk to your doctor. It probably is just stress related but tubal pregnancy does happen. It is very dangerous so you should not wait. I will pray for you, L.. God Bless!

Man, you are having an aweful time right now. I had a hysterectomy when i was 24, because of fibroid tumors. I thought that i could be pregnant, too. I had only 1/2 ovary left. There is a syptom that has the signs of pregnancy.it is the body changing it's hormone levels. You don't seem to have a tubal pg or you would be having severe pain as the fetus would start growing. It can be a false pregnancy, with your mind and the body reacts to "mind over matter". Will be praying for you as you have your mastectomy. A partial means there is the ability to recontruct the breast tissue.GOD is good.BEST WISHES AND PRAYERS FOR A QUICK RECOVERY. LET ME KNOW.

Call your doctor (your OB) ASAP. You need an ultrasound, CT scan, or something to rule out a tubal pregnancy. Call them NOW.

You need to go see your doctor. A tubal pregnancy can be very dangerous for you and yes, stress can cause some of the symptoms you are having. You really need to see a doc, best of luck to you and hope this helps.
