Hi J.!

I completely understand what you're talking about! I have switched my vitamins to a better brand that has a 80%+ absorbancy rate. Made all the difference in the world. I noticed a change in my energy levels within 2-3 days! I was absolutely amazed! If you're interested please give me a call! Good luck!

I'd recommend mentioning it to your OB/GYN at your next appointment and seeing if there's a medical reason contributing (such as the low iron levels mentioned by KL - I took took Slow FE in my 2nd pregnancy).

Otherwise, I'd recommend stealing cat naps when you can (maybe easier said than done) - perhaps your husband would be kind enough to you sleep in on the weekends and tend to the kids so you can catch-up on your rest.

My only other recommendation is to incorporate more carbs and proteins into your diet - when I was going through chemo, protein was the advice of my Oncologist for when I was going to get fatigued. Carbs obviously become fuel (glucose) when digested.

Best wishes - hope you get some more energy soon!

I don't know how old your little ones are but I hope you're teaching them to help you and to do their own share of chores, like picking up toys and things like that. We had everyone doing something to help out or at least picking up their own messes and that would be some help PLUS would be teaching them a valuable lesson on work.
I just did less cleaning when pregnant if tired and did the pick up everyday. As our kids got older than could dust and run the sweeper but otherwise just be sure it's clean but not perfect and try to rest and enjoy this time. Don't know anything to boost the energy and remember soon you'll need even more energy getting less sleep with a baby. Rest now if you can and put the two kids down for naps or a quiet time. Or if you can read to them and prop your feet up and relax at the same time.

Aw you poor baby, congrats, pregnant and you have two little ones? Well there is your answer. No wonder you're tired! If someone can help with housework - like your better half - they should be helping you! No excuse! Unless that person is disabled for some reason. You need to express your need for help around the house. There is nothing wrong in asking for help. Maybe you have a parent who can come to help a bit too? We woman always think we are invincible and we just don't need to ask for help. Really it's ok to do that!

I took an all natural pre-natal and it naturall boosted my energy. Many moms seem to like it!

Good luck!

I'm 31 weeks with no. 3 and have never hit that boost of energy I got during the 2nd trimester with my first 2, so I feel your pain! I think every pregnancy is just different. Talk to your doc about extra B vitamins and make sure you're getting lots of protein through meats, eggs and dairy. Unfortunately that's all I've got. Hope it helps some! Good luck!

are you taking a GOOD multi-vitamin? over the counter vitamins are really not very good for you. unfortunately the is not law governing vitamins. so even though they say "100%" on the labels, your body is just not physically able to absorb that amount of vitamin at once. hence why your urine turns bright yellow or green! lol. you may just not be getting what you really need and you are worn down. I started buying all of my vitamins online from a whole-sale club, because they are relatively inexpensive and they offer a 90 day challenge if you dont feel better, then you get all your money back. that was worth a shot for me! lol. and yes, i have definitely felt a lot better. I am just taking a daily multi vitamin, joint vitamin, and stress vitamin. but i know they have prenatals too. message me if you want, i can refer you! lol.

They should be doing your iron test soon, but I really think it is the two little ones around. I am at 36 weeks and I don't remember my first pregnancy being this exhausting. Give yourself a break on the housework. My husband has really had to step in, even more than normal this time. I know he has made some comments about it, but he has still done it, and it has helped a lot.

Have you had your iron levels checked? I was exhausted all the time and it turns out I was anemic. My midwife had me start taking extra iron (in addition to what I was getting from my prenatal) and I felt much better. I took Slow FE because it's easier on the stomach and I had no digestive issues ;-)

I only have one kid (although she is a spirited one) and no pregnancy, and I can't keep up with the house cleaning either :) Give yourself a break, lower your expectations a bit, and take care of yourself.

for me I never have enough energy when I'm pregnant. No matter how much I sleep or rest. The best thing I can say is just try to rest when you can. if you are low in iron than that can cause more fatigue (which is what I always have) But your doc. can give you more iron pills to take and that helps some.

I have one week left in my pregnancy and I have to say that thankfully Tri. 3 got a lot better. I was so sick and EXHAUSTED the first 2 tri's. I have a 2.5 year old girl who is a very good girl...I can't imagine 2 littles running around!

Obviously, talk to your doctor. Mine actually told me to drink a little bit of caffiene daily to help with the energy and the bad headaches I was getting.

Napping has also helped me, but I only have one little one at home.

And finally, LET THE HOUSEWORK GO! I made the deal with my husband that I would clean everything that was waist high and he got everything below that. He works full time and has a commute, so sometimes the house doesn't get put back together until the weekends, but it is what it is! I've been nesting lately, so I've naturally had small boosts of energy to pick up a few things and keep them clean. The playroom however, gets trashed daily and my hubby picks it up every few days.

Hopefully, Tri 3 goes better for you since you've struggled already so much. Best wishes and a giant HUG.

Hi J.,

I am in the same situation as you. You might be a little anemic. My midwife suggested a great iron supplement. It's called Floradix. You can get it at a good health food store. It's a little spendy, about $40 for a 2-3 week supply, but this stuff is amazing! Within 2 days, I felt my energy go right back up, and my muscles weren't fatigued anymore. It is the only iron that I've taken that doesn't constipate, so I love it! And then I also take alfalfa tablets, about 6 per day. The other thing is you are chasing after 2 babies. My hubby and I came up with a theory: all our energy is being expended by our children, because they have sucked it directly from us!
