Hi!

I'm looking for pre-school in Plano area for my 2 years old son, twice a week, 5-6hrs. What you could suggest? I'm also interested in Montessori schoold, but I assume they are all full and there is a line.

And what is the difference between MDO and prescool? Are these similar places.

What can I do next?

Above is the state website. Search for your criteria and it will give you a list. It will also show you if a daycare has been written up by the state and why they were.

Soraya Montessori at Custer and Spring Creek is a small Montessori that provides much more individual attention for a great price. My daughter was very upset to leave when she started Kindergarten. She would cry when I would pick her up because she wasn't ready to go home! She went to Children's Montessori on Hedgecoxe and would cry when I dropped her off every day. We found out alot about what was happening at that school so decided to move her to Soraya and from the first day she enjoyed it! I am proud to say my daughter has very good manners, respects others and their property and cleans up after herself! I attribute most of that to Ms. Soraya. Because it is a smaller school they really do get personal attention.

Last year we went to Legacy Church Learning Center and LOVED it! It is at legacy and I think prestonwood( just west of coit) They even do spanish starting at 3. It was my daughters first preschool and she looked forward to going. They really love on your little one and make them feel safe with out you.

I really liked Hunter's Glen Childhood Learning Center at Custer near Spring Creek. Especially the 2 yr old class; the teacher is "Miss Martha" and she was just great for my twin daughters. My neighbor's grandchildren (4) all attended there, too and gave me high remarks. Recently I transferred my girls to Children's Choice which is a day care; they will do some part time after children are 2 years and potty trained. My daughters love it there and have learned a lot. both places have a web site.

If your looking for a good partime program, you should tour Primrose Schools. They are great and there are two awesome ones in Plano. Primrose School of Forest Creek and North Plano are both on Coit. One is at the intersection of Spring Creek and the other is at Hedgcoxes. The phone number is ###-###-#### (thats just one of the schools, they can point you in the right direction for the other schools number).

Good luck!

I don't know if this is an official difference, but it seems to me that MDOs are all affiliated with a religious institution and contain some degree of religious activity/learning, whereas preschools do not necessarily.
