Potty Training-"Pooping Wall"

Requesting Advice: Mom friend with 2-1/2 yr old...Potting Training Great except when time for BMovement...child (she) requests diaper and finds her "pooping wall".. Will not go on toilet...any suggestions

What can I do next?

So What Happened?™

Child asks for and receives a diaper, then goes and stands at "her wall" to do her business. Breakthrough: Daycare provider has begun to take her to bathroom and places her on toilet to clean her "after" the fact...I think child might be on her way to "figuring it out"...Mom has thought of telling child no more diapers left...another suggestion was to cut hole in diaper and place child on toilet, or to change environment...bathroom time...be on week's vacation (or out of house).. thanks for your responses

go on a week long trip. No seriously. I had the same problem with my son. he would go get a pull-up or cry and beg for one. Mostly he would just sneak off to get one and put it on and go into a corner. I took the kids to disneyland for a week and we left the pull-up in the hotel room while being in the park all day. he had to go started begging for a pull-up and crying. I told him it was in the room and we could not get it. he hit the wall of it was coming no matter what and we rushed in the br. He did his business and we made a huge deal out of it. the rest of the week he used the potty and when we got home he did not revert. I think taking them out of their normal setting can help.

I think I know what you mean - she puts on the diaper, then goes and stands at her wall.

My daughter does something very similar. I wish I had an answer as well, but everyone keeps telling me she will grow out of it. She is stubborn as all get out, so I know if I keep pushing she will just do it even longer. So I am basically ignoring it aside from giving her the pull-up and helping clean her up. At least she isn't going in her pants. I am trying to encourage her to at least go into the bathroom, even while wearing her pull up. I tell her that poop is stinky and we would rather the smell stay in the bathroom. I am hoping she will make the connection soon!

Please post if your friend gets a good solution as I would like to hear it as well!

I'm confused... Is she leaning on a wall and pooping in her diaper? Or is she pooping and smearing it on a wall? I've heard of both...

My daughter did this for a couple of months before finally going in the potty. your friends daughter is still young, I would just recommend time and patients. Also encouragement from parents. Mom and dad can show that they go in the potty and like to say by by to the poo. Sound gross but kids learn by example better(sometimes).

Im assuming you mean, she sits on the wall and poops in her diaper?

My coucins little boy did this until 3, I think he was scared or wating control. One day after much encouragment (and she quit buying hte diapers) He had one poop accident in regualr pants and after that he went on toilet.

I guess I need a bit more information...what do you mean by "pooping wall"? Your request is a bit sketchy.
