Ok, my daughter is 3 years and 5 months old and we are finally potty training!!!! My question for all you moms out there with girls, how do you handle going to the rest room in public. Anyone have some good ideas. Not all rest rooms have seat covers (I guess I could buy some) and today we tried standing on the toilet, but she peed all over my leg. My daughter thought it was the funniest thing. I would love to hear ideas.
I find my daughter does not like to sit on the liners, so I wipe down the seat with an antiseptic wipe and one of her regular wipes to rinse. I have to move quickly to make sure she doesn't have accidents but at least I feel better about her sitting on the seat. I have tried holding her up and she just doesn't feel comfortable, usually she wants to do it all herself. Hope this is helpful.

I just wanted to let you know that walmart and target sell portable childrens toilet seats, and covers for toilets you can keep on hand in case you are in the situation you described. Good Luck potty training it should not be long now.

I actually bought a little fold up toilet seat for my daughter only because she is really intimidated by the size of regular toilets. I would stay away from those if your daughter isn't intimidated. For sanitation purposes, you can always carry disinfecting wipes in a zip lock bag to wipe the seats.

W. I just ordered the BEST thing!!! It is a kid potty cover/insert that folds up small for carrying along. We have used it at people's houses and out in public since my daughter is not comfortable yet with balancing on a big toilet - and then all the germs and stuff.

Using toilet paper, we make a "nest" and then push the TP into the toilet when finished. BUT... do not use too much because it will clog the toilet.

There is a potty seat insert that folds and fits into a diaper bag or purse. I don't know who makes it, but you could probably find it at babiesrus or just google it. Good luck with training!

We have a portable potty cover that can fold up and be put in the diaper bag. We got ours at Walmart but I think you can get them at Babies R Us as well. Then I just put toilet paper on the seat first and put the potty cover on the toilet paper to try and keep most of the germs off of the potty cover. It was inexpensive, I think about $12 or so.
